No I don't think this will happen. In the future, maybe AI will help improve the quality of life in some jobs not them take over. For now AI is far from that stage and robotics, well have a long way to go too. But my best bet is that when they finally reach the point when AI and robotics merge it will only help to make job easier.

I'm doing prep in the kitchen working towards being a chef, so I think I'm safe from AI for now.

AI will take away jobs, like the steam machine and the car and every other great invention. BUT everyone who is an early adopter and a flexible thinker will be fine. Someone who can repair carriages can repair cars aswell. It's another thing today, I know. But it's doable. People who dislike tech will have a bad time though.

rather than just straight up replacing you, I think AI will enable companies and whoever in charge more tools to achieve the same goal as having you work for them. Take maybe a mechanic. They pay is relatively high because of skills and experience required to do the job well. With AI, you can probably enable a highschool dropout with little to no experience to do the same job as a seasoned mechanic, thus saving the company money and putting the higher paid worker out of a job.
