Call me a heathen but I actually prefer Southern Comfort. Love the way it smells.

No problems from me. One of the things that got me hooked on 'Angel's Envy' was the smell. I can actually detect the cherry smell (and taste) some people talk about in Whisk(e)y (Bourbon). I never got that in others. Don't get me wrong, it's not ALL that I like about it, but it IS nice.

Drink what you like, how you like it.. Unless you want to add Pineapple, then I will say you need to go to one of the Pizza Threads.

Bourbon is probably my favorite style, but I like em all from all countries. I would like to try more from Japan though.

Be careful with Japanese Whisk(e)y. When it started to get big on the Global market they didn't have enough supply. Some (mostly new) Distilleries sourced product from Scotland and then Bottled and labeled it as Japanese. I think they were doing Blends (mostly) but didn't say it had stuff from Scotland in it. The Older Distilleries decided to skip age statements to avoid issues, so you are safe with them.

Ever try Dalwhinnie?
Highland single malt but smooth as silk. Used it to make Irish coffee once and it was up to standard with the Irish brands.
On its own it's a beaut.

I'm not a big expert but I do enjoy some good glass from time to time I guess my fav are Lagavulin. Caol Ila and Laphroaig, all 3 are Islay whiskeys...when I'm not in the mood for the smoky flavour then I fancy some Irish whiskey

I just can't get past the burnt rubber smell/flavor of the Isla Whisk(e)y's. I do wish I could because the other smells/flavors are very nice. Rye is better but not big on it.

Ah, now there is a good question. How do people drink their whisk(e)y? Neat, Ice, Water, or other things? I tend to start Neat and then use refrigerated water as I work through my Dram.

Just a Whisk(e)y thought.

P.S. Pineapple on Pizza can be forgiven. Pineapple in whisk(e)y is EVIL.

I don't like Whiskey, and I've tried multiple times, but it's jut not for me. I like Whiskey BBQ Ribs though.

Ever tried a Single Malt Bourbon, or a Straight 100% Malt Corn Whisky aged on new charred American oak. It is possible to create a smokey peat bourbon that has a very interesting flavour created by using a peat malt from New Zealand combined with malt corn and malt rye and then aged on charred American oak.

I do like a single malt. I collected and enjoyed them for years. Rarely anything particularly fancy (though I've definitely tried that as well), mostly just decent quality stuff. My personal favourite, which is also very reasonably priced, is just a Talisker 10 Year Old - always recommended. As for something more "awful", let's just say I find Laphroaig to be quite an experience and not necessarily enjoyable.

But to be honest, I haven't bought any new whiskys for at least 5 years now, not since I started getting into good quality rum instead. It can be just as complex and varied and interesting as whisky. It's so much more than just plain old Bacardi or Captain Morgan. I even managed to convince a few of my mates, who used to be even more into whisky than I was, and we all basically only drink rum now.

Not like that, no. I am probably a bit more traditional (or boring some might say), so it's basically always either neat, on the rocks or sometimes as a nice Cuba Libre.
