I don't know if such thread is allowed here, nevertheless my questions to you, fellow lewdcornerers, are:
- do you like whisk(e)y/bourbon or not?
- what brend would you 100% advise?
- what brend is kinda average or meh?
- what brend is awful/not to your taste?

As for me, I'm a whisk(e)y fan for about 2 or 2.5 years. Bourbon is not my kind of lovely drink, gonna pass.
My favorites are: Bushmills (Original and Blackbush), Dewars (White Label and Port Cask), Auchentoshan American Oak (my favorite so far), Glen Moray, Glenallachie 12y, The Irishman, Connemara Peated, Glengrants Arboralis and Aberlour 12y.
The "meh" are Johnie Walker, Glenmorangie (just don't appeal to me, average at most).
The worst I've drinked not so long ago was Teeling Single Grain, matured in Cabernet Saugvignon casks - it is so disgusting and chemical-perfumery, that I could swallow it only with Cola.

Back when I could drink, the only whiskey I regularly drank was Crown Royal.

I will say, was never a fan of Jack Daniel's.

And unfortunately, I never got to try other whiskeys as I got older.

If I could choose what to drink for the rest of my life I would probably die because I would choose whisky

They sell a 21yo variant also. But 16 is plenty good enough for me. :)
The most matured (at least I've seen personally) whisk(e)y in my city is Johnie Walker Blue Label at the price of 200+ bucks. Or some Dalmore half this price.

For myself 'Angel's Envy' is the BEST. I also enjoy Toki and Japanese Harmony from Japan if you hadn't guessed. Scotch of course has Mcallen (I do NOT like the Double wood).

There was a whiskey I tried (and will NOT go back to) that was overpoweringly apple flavored. Sorry can't remember the name and NOT going to look at the bottle (it's a too far away).

Just some Whisk(e)y thoughts.

P.S. I KNOW what you want me to say. Nope I drink with Pretentious Snobbery (OK also Magnificence). :)

Somebody bought me a shot of 25yo macallan once. Noice! Macallan does a 40yo - but it's like $20K or more a bottle, no shit.

When I was in Highscool I had too much whiskey one time got real sick. Now it is impossible for me to drink.

Me too. I can still drink whiskey though - just not bourbon (even then the super top-shelf stuff is sometimes OK).

You won't find me judging) Everyone has their own taste. As for japanese whisk(e)y, I want to buy Kamiki.

Macallen got too big (well known) for the most part and so their stuff is EXPENSIVE. Of course, age statements and other things also add to the cost. For myself, when I learned what 'Single Malt' REALLY means, I was a bit shocked.

For those that do not know what Single Malt means:
Single = made and bottled at a SINGLE Distillery.
Malt = The grain was Malted.

That's it. Nothing fancy. Just it has malted grain from one place.

Between that and learning about the SILLY idea that BLENED is bad I don't really look for those things on the Label. Oh, ANY Whisk(e)y that is NOT a Single Barrel release IS Blended. They Blend multiple Barrels from one or more Distilleries to get enough for large releases. Heck, you can get OLD whisk(e)y in a bottle with a 'Young' age statement (the statement is just the youngest barrel in the mix).

Just some Snobbish Wisk(e)y thoughts.

Call me a heathen but I actually prefer Southern Comfort. Love the way it smells.

I can drink it. Or vodka or tequila - if it's not the cheap stuff. But it not a good Bushmills. :)
