There is alot of land, and there is more that players have not seen yet. It's a bit of a generational game as characters age.

My first Pokémon game was Pokémon Ruby, so I’m a bit partial to Gen 3. @Redyscom , what do you think he should start with?

Pokémon Platinum and later. Because in Generation III and earlier, there’s no distinction between physical and special attacks—it depends on the type—and that’s very counterintuitive.

I’d say the best option is Black and White.

This is a conversation I did not expect to see today. I'm glad I read some of this thread.

A cup of coffee, I’ve been skipping breakfast for years. I fell out of the routine so I could get a few more minutes in bed before heading out the door.

I stay away from a lot of Pokémon communities for exactly that reason, haha.

But of course, I’m recommending official games here. Now, if I had to recommend the best Pokemon games... The fan-made games from the Spanish-speaking community are by far the best you can find. They obviously have their limitations—they aren’t made by professionals—but as Pokemon games, they’re the best you can play.

I would say I'm interested but as soon as I saw that it's text-based instead of pngs on a board I lost interest. Hope it goes well though, the concept is interesting.
