Well a professor basically told me all tech jobs in the industry are going to be useless.

Told him he was wrong until I seen plenty of friends in the tech industry laid off and A.I jobs replacing them.

Most low paid jobs will soon be replaced with robots and A.I just give it time.

" i think it was called, who knows it was long ago (20+ years).
than the hackers found out it was written by an ex-microsoft employee & punched 20 billion holes in it.
it went from great to outdated in 8.5 seconds because the dev couldn't keep up.

We just had to fire an engineer for slop coding. Dude had been stumbling along on bug fix tickets for the last couple months since he got brought in, but his first real project (just a little module update, nothing huge) was such an impressively flaming pile of garbage that everything fell apart.

And given how glacially slow the hiring process is, its going to take absolute ages for us to bring in a new coder, blargh.

Oh he absolutely did. His degree was real, but from what I'm hearing nearly everything else he claimed was exaggerated at best, fake at worst.

It's crazy that he managed it too. I had 7 interviews and a crazily intense background check for my position (low level lab tech, not top secret or anything), and apparently this guy just pulled a "trust me!" and got through.

My job is making me show ethical ways to use LLM to college students. At this point, I don't want to get fired, but I still want to try to make them understand what they lose if they push all the thinking into the AI models. Not every question can be answered with a hallucinating LLM that thinks the math is 1+1=5. Especially Health and medical research degrees. I treat it like a thesaurus, but I still keep a dictionary on hand and foot on the power cord if i ever need to beat a computer to death.
