I really prefer games where getting the sex scenes isn't a game over so you can just keep playing.

Yep, defeat scenes is a terrible mechanic that highlights lack of skill or care, specially in action games were you have to redo a good chunk of the map. At least some devs let you replay the scene after winning. For VNs it's more complicated it gives weight to the choices but you need some writing quality. Games that let you guide the character experiences but doesn't allow you to unlock the other scenes can be a headache too, specially if you don't actually know how to get them or if they are tied to some RNG like battle-ecchi

i just noticed that the amount of active coin you get per message has gone from 2 per message to 4 per message so that at least a bonus

It's not that they are not being restored
It's that there's an entirely new activity coin
So everyone is starting from 0

Like a new economy where only the gold bars (donation points) and diamonds(platinum points) still matter from the previous economy
