For example, why the hell are USA mail services allowed to just leave stuff in front of someone's home to be stolen

That's all and well under the consideration that there will be someone there to monitor the package...wich would also imply that same someone could receive the package and sign it like a normal mail service. In some countries a package can only be considered delivered if there's a way to safely put it inside the residence of the adress or if there's someone willing to put trackable info in case mail theft is reportedStealing something from a porch might be considered trespassing
you try that at the wrong house it gets you shot.
maybe that was the original consideration when they allowed the post to do that

and they're not fps![]()
That reminds me, wasn't there going to be a new Star Wars RPG coming out? Something like KOTOR?
safely is kind of a broad term. Over here I had the post deliver a note saying the package is under a plant, in an unused trashcan, or just "in the back" leaving me to go on a quest to find the thing, dont think the usa is unique in thatThat's all and well under the consideration that there will be someone there to monitor the package...wich would also imply that same someone could receive the package and sign it like a normal mail service. I find this very confusing. I don't live in the United States. Here, if the package delivery service can't find you at home, they don't leave it at your door; they take it with them and notify you that the package could not be delivered. That's all and well under the consideration that there will be someone there to monitor the package...wich would also imply that same someone could receive the package and sign it like a normal mail service. Quality of service has gone to shit. I remember pre COVID and even after anything I had delivered there's be a guy knocking on your door and hand you the package. Now they just knock. Leave it at the door. And take a picture of it at your front door and email it to you...Basically talk about random stuff and reply to other people about random stuff, give likes if you can

Isn't that how it's supposed to go? Unless you ticked off the box that says "leave it at the front door/porch".I find this very confusing. I don't live in the United States. Then you have the option of a second delivery attempt, and if that fails, you have to pay a fee for a third attempt or pick it up at the local depot.
Nope, you can't do that here. It's a strict rule from the delivery services here that no package can be left unattended. It has to be delivered to the customer or a resident at the address, who is asked for ID so there's a record of who received the package and their relationship/connection to the customer.Isn't that how it's supposed to go?
