Guys, have you ever loved some medias but felt strangely reluctant to experience them again?

That’s me right now with my all-time favorite medias. I know they’re great, but revisiting them feels like a chore. Meanwhile, there are several guilty-pleasure medias that I genuinely enjoy every time, yet I still rank them lower because they don’t feel like “art,” at least subjectively.

It’s like comparing a delicate fish full of tiny bones to greasy comfort food. The fish might be more refined and impressive, but sometimes you’d rather not deal with the effort and just enjoy something easy and indulgent.

Oh, that’s another thing. I felt sad that I don’t enjoy some things the same way anymore. I’ve grown out of them. Now, I dread that I might grow out of the things I like now. Like, why even bother liking something if I won’t like it in the future?

I guess I’m just traditional that way. I want things to stay the same forever, like trying to download an online game as an offline game so I can enjoy it forever.

There's also nothing wrong to want things to stay like they were. Every generation had this and will have this situation. We're living for the first time (~150 years] in such a extreme fast paced environment, that our human mind can't comprehend the changes, their volumes and inpacts that this is having to our daily life.

Taking a break and living this memory or even reviving it isn't bad. After all the older ones call it "tradition".

As an nerd about medieval stuff I would like to say, that I like to living in todays time. For me it's unimagible to trade all the perks (even if they have tradeoffs) to the uncertainity of the "older" days.
But I was born into that time without knowledge about how much better it could be? Maybe I wouldn't change it. Somehow human life thrived even in worse times, that indicates that the survival instinct is stronger than the urgency of comfort.

Nearly no one is ready for giving this up permamently.
Actually that's my plan. Just need to figure out some things, maybe even find someone that is ready to life a simpler life, but with modern perks. But that's just optional.

On my travels I had at best 2 weeks no connection to the web and other digital media. It's so interesting how coming back home feels so empty. I needed days to acclimate to the plethora of of content, so overwhelming was it.
