as MattaMus11 (how in god name do i tag someone ) said it is very possible for RAM to just keep going up...... many manufacturers are starting to put less or even sometimes older ram sticks in their consumer products..... some desktop computers pre-built have even been shipping without ram at all i have seen.

It is a sad time to try buying computer parts ;-; (also to tag someone do @ then their name <3)

As a side note, what is the main difference between this and Fuck95? It seems like such a niche audience that where really wouldn't be a need for multiple sites dedicated to it.

if it is not soldered in it may be a good idea to grab some of that ram out of the device! lenovo was doing a good for value range of gaming laptops a year ago 40 series and now some 50 cards, but their prices have gone up a lot. some of their "legion" series laptops are on sale (not the hand-helds), but what i saw was fifty or sixty dollars-so over your budget.

Acer, huh? I was actually leaning more toward ASUS or Lenovo.

ASUS because my old laptop is ASUS too, and that thing is thick and durable as hell. It even fell from a medium height once and was still totally fine.

Lenovo because that seems to be the general consensus on Reddit.

My condolences regarding your hardware. I was lucky to assemble a desktop pc before the insane spike in ram prices, and I am glad I didn't wait.

I have a 13yo lenovo ideapad laptop still kicking. It's my emergency computer, running less demanding idle games most of the time.
Its 1tb 2.5" 5400rpm hdd has a lot of bad sectors, but I don't use it for storage anymore. System runs on M2 256gb SSD - bought ~10y ago and it's still working well. CPU performance and low ram limit some of my browsing experience, but it's working. Not sure about modern Lenovo laptops, but good luck, you will need it while trying to save money...

try the lenovo website the price seem to be less there specifically for the legion 5 you mentioned. i think they are having a sale with a coupon or some such you can sort by lowest cost

I got good and bad news:
The next days I will be too busy to comment and reacting.

A friend is spontaneous moving in an another flat. Means I need to pack my tools, drive 400km, will stay there for the weekend and drive back. Starting tomorrow right after work. I still don't know what there need to be done. So I will pack way more tools than proably needed. Wish me luck.
