Acer, huh? I was actually leaning more toward ASUS or Lenovo.
ASUS because my old laptop is ASUS too, and that thing is thick and durable as hell. It even fell from a medium height once and was still totally fine.
Lenovo because that seems to be the general consensus on Reddit.
My condolences regarding your hardware. I was lucky to assemble a desktop pc before the insane spike in ram prices, and I am glad I didn't wait.
I have a 13yo lenovo ideapad laptop still kicking. It's my emergency computer, running less demanding idle games most of the time.
Its 1tb 2.5" 5400rpm hdd has a lot of bad sectors, but I don't use it for storage anymore. System runs on M2 256gb SSD - bought ~10y ago and it's still working well. CPU performance and low ram limit some of my browsing experience, but it's working. Not sure about modern Lenovo laptops, but good luck, you will need it while trying to save money...
