eh, ready player 2 the book was basically just the first one with a new skin on it lol

cause i remember in the movie there were some cringe things that could only be made if the author wasn't an actual gamer

[Indigo Vibes]

Am I immature for wanting a Ready Player 2?

I think it depends on why you want Ready Player 2 or what you expect of it

no you are not lol, but did you read the book?

I did and I actually enjoyed it. It's not the next Lord of the Rings, not even close, but it was a decently fun and quick read with enough of a plot justification for the pop culture references that it didn't break my suspension of disbelief. from what I know of the movie, it's significantly worse in basically every way.

did the book actually have proper game jargon

yeah, the references in Ready Player 1 the book were fine.

eh, ready player 2 the book was basically just the first one with a new skin on it lol

is there really a Ready Player 2? I thought his other book was Andromeda or something

if i remember correctly the books jargon was better than the movies

Armada was very good, and a movie i would love to watch

I have learned with book adaptations to reduce my expectations by a significant margin. Looking at you Dark Tower, fucking idiot producer. That could have been a great movie.

[irrevesible]

now a novel with actually very good mmo gaming jargon that goes beyond anything else i've read would be the Overlord light novel

It was ok. Read Bobiverse series. Some page turners.

Also, I cannot sing the praises for Project Hail Mary enough. Best hard science fiction novel I have ever read hands down. Better than Enders Game.

Night folks, your fault I want to read my book now.

I almost started reading the light novels until I found out that he's basically just wrapping up the story to be done with it and have announced what the last volume will be and I just can't believe it's enough time for there to be a satisfying wrap up to everything that's happened so far. The anime's not even all that far behind.

The anime is so fucking good but on a recent rewatch I feel like there's maybe some weird sticking points that might keep people from really getting into it. It's hard for me to tell though because I recognize that the show scratches an itch for me that means I can't be objective about it.

The anime cuts out like 50% of the novel contents, even more than that with the movie, so there's a lot of info that is missed. The author claims he's finishing "Overlord" in 2 more volumes, but he's been known to write a ton of side stories within its world so who knows if it's truly ending. For example he wrote an entire book dedicated to an alternate timeline with Evileye as one of the main protagonists.

Yeah, I know there's a lot more content in the light novels but from what I've heard it's not stuff that's advancing the plot or getting things tied up and closer to a resolution so it's still the same issue of not enough space in the few volumes left to get all that done in a way that I would personally find satisfying. I could be wrong about that and maybe they've got a killer fuckin' idea that's gonna blow my tits off but I'm just not willing to invest in that possibility before the last volume is out. It's a lot easier for me to deal with whatever kind of ending a thing has if I don't have to sit around and wait for it without even knowing how long it'll be.

[irrevesible]

Funnily enough, this book was actually one of the best ones he's written.

Well, after losing some ranks, coins, My Avatar and pretty much everything else, I guess I’ll have to start farming engagement around here again

As for another solid recommendation, if you’re into MMO-style worlds with deep systems, I’d strongly suggest Log Horizon. It goes heavy on game mechanics, guild politics, economy, skills, and how players actually adapt when the game becomes reality. The MMO jargon and world logic are incredibly well thought out, especially compared to most “generic isekai” stuff.

Definitely worth checking out if you liked Overlord’s approach to game systems.

Night bro, im getting close to sleep too

Good Night

its kinda like a seedbox or sorts, basically it downloads the torrent and makes it available to you at through direct download on their site. but with stremio it makes it where you can just watch the movies instantly with no load time.

i prefer plex with saab radarr/sonarr/overseerr lol (and few others software)

One of the things I like about the free streaming service like Tubi or fawesome tv is even though they fill there service with a bunch of junk there also movies or shows I likely never would of found without them.

Can you mf please stop double posting, if you wanna reply to more than 1 post, quote'em. FFS.

If someone adds Mad Max my life will be complete.

Hello and welcome to the thread Will..

You came during a time of turmoil, but things have picked up. I have been lurking in the background lately, like many others waiting for things to calm down. It is sort of a bummer to read and make posts, only to have things disappear the next day. I myself am rather a newbie, but there are many others here that will help you.

First, I would like to mention, if no one else has yet, please try not to double post. I myself do not care, but a mod like @RED - 99 might correct you by tramp stamping his name on your ass. Try explaining that at the pool when the weather warms up.

Another tradition on this thread is the theme of the day. I myself get this confused, but @MattShizzle will remind us every day.

I will note that I finally remember that it is not 'Scaturday' and will do better. Furthermore, I do not want Mr. Shizzle shitting diarrhea in my litter box after eating 'Green Eggs and Ham' and playing 'A Wife and Mother' all night.

So I hope that everyone has a wonderful "Caturgay!"

Yes, I know that I double posted, but this site was screwing up again. Please don't tell @RED - 99.
