I LOVE breaded mushrooms -- BUT (there is always a "butt") sometimes at dinners and banquets they sneak in breaded cauliflower which looks identical but tastes like cauliflower -- such shenanigans give me nightmares and I find it emotionally scarring.

You're missing out! My Italian in-laws make some breaded cauliflower that have their own unique flavor.
Even the little kids love them. Helps that there's a bunch of butter and locatelli cheese.
