It's the classic "Nature vs. Nurture" conundrum, really.I've been thinking a lot about how everyone claims to have found their true self, but when you actually try to get to know them, it's just a variation on someone else's theme. I mean think about it - every 'quirky artist' is secretly the more pretentious cousin of that one dude who used to wear skinny jeans in college. Every 'edgy rebel' is just someone's annoying little brother trying too hard.
It got me thinking: how many people are actually original, or are we all just rehashed versions of someone else's personality?
Are we individuals; all our own thoughts, completely unique from one another? Or, are we products of those around us, combined or convinced to be what others want?
Unless you were born and raised in a vacuum, I think we are all both.
