When I was growing up almost no one had AC here in the states (a long time ago - late 50s early 60s) - On brutishly hot days we would either go grocery shopping or to movie theaters which were about the only places with AC In those days. Then the wonder of window AC units happened followed by central air

That heat has happened in cycles. Note that newspapers from the various periods in the 1800s and in the 1920s and the 1930s especially had reports of heat spells in the 100s (F) in both the US and Europe. It's not just now; heat spells have been cyclical for a long long time. (The recent adjustments of historical temp data to match the models (NOAA has been changing historical temps data downward for over 10 years) more likely means that the models are poorly designed, rather than that the data were poorly acquired. Until the 20th century, temp data for the most of the world was unavailable; extrapolating historical data for rural areas by data from cities does not seem to me to be great scientific practice.)

This made me think over, do you consider night at a fix hour or when the sunset, I mean here it was 21:00 I am always consider it like night but now at 21:00 there was still light.
