That's how D&D dragons work: Metallic (good aligned) dragons all have two types of breath attack, and Chromatic (evil aligned) dragons all had one type of breath attack. THe Chromatic breath weapons were somewhat thematic on the dragons color (the base game had 5 colors for a long time) Red: Fire, Green: Poison Gas, Blue: Electricity, Black: Acid (makes marginal sense since acid can blacken steel...), and White: Ice.

Within other fantasy, ionno what dragons can do.

I think that it would be a somewhat effective defense against land-based enemies. I think it would slow many attackers by being slippery as hell. In water it could be like an ink cloud. Against air-based enemies, well, maybe they'd be grossed out by it... or it would mess up their feathers too bad for them to fly.

It's (also) about staying save and not having to relocate all the time due to being reported ... not that there was anything to report in any prestige rank, obviously! But that hasn't hindered some idiots from doing so anyway in the past ... it's the internet after all.
