Hello all, enjoying this free for all thread.
I've been working on fat loss for months and finally have a place to write out what I've found to work

1. Cut out all the sweets, cakes, alcohol, chips, etc from your diet for one week. Everything else stays the same. Just don't eat that stuff for 7 days. This will train discipline later on when shit gets hard
1a. Start walking at least 10 mins each day. Step counts don't really matter. Just set a timer or something and at some point during the day take 10 mins to walk.
2. After that first week, use a calorie tracking app (chonometer is great) and track everything you eat, doesn't matter what or how much, for 2 weeks. This will train you to pay attention to what you're eating.
Now the hard part
3. Take the avg/day for what you ate those two weeks and cut it by 200/day and increase your time walking (or running if you're more advanced) by 5-10 minutes. Whatever your body can handle for another 2 weeks
3a. Incorporate more beans, frozen veg, fruits, and poultry in your diet so you're not hungry
4. Drop another 100 calories/day, so 300 total and get yourself up to 30 mins of walking/running a day and continue this for....as long as you can. At least 3 months. You should be losing at least a 1lb a week.

Take a moment to read through the very first post of it, then take a stroll through the university.
Both places have some good to know info. :p

Basically calorie deficit with clean food, the base of weight loss. Food is always the key.

Maybe add some motivation too xd

Oh 100%. I found the first basically 3 weeks of just resetting your mindset around food is the most helpful. Because then it's not about the...this is lame but it becomes more the journey than the destination. And the clean food just because if you use up your food 'budget' with whiskey and steaks and french fries (guilty) you'll be hungry as hell later

Hello everyone, how are you guys going today?

Note if you're already eating healthy - cutting calories can be a bad idea. Especially if trying to exercise more, too.
Out of curiosity, what kinds of problems would that cause?
Eating healthy and eating at a calorie deficit are not the same thing. You can eat healthy and a bit too much, but you can eat healthy and to little too. It's a balancing act which shifts depending on your activity level, you can build muscle and lose weight, but if you are too extreme in your weight loss you will end up burning muscles and damaging yourself.

Welcome to the family!
When you're here.. you're family. Wait.. isn't that the slogan for Olive Garden? Oh well.. it holds true. It's like Olive Garden, but the food doesn't suck.

Well, it probably does, if @conzibald is making it. Word of advice.. NEVER eat anything he's prepared. I made that mistake once..
