Funny thing is as bad as the sequel series were I actually do want to see more of Ray's character. I think she'd actually be pretty good if they got a decent writer to work on a script.

I am simply a follower of Ockham's Razor.
(the principle that in explaining phenomena, one should strive for simplicity, choosing explanations that rely on as few concepts and assumptions as possible)
Just because someone chooses simple solutions doesn't mean he's a simpleton.

But you know that's not how it works, don't you? It's funny because you are simplifying the concept of Ockham's razor. Ironic.
A concept is not a solution, nor an explanation of phenomena.
And it doesn't work, at all, with opinions.

There's a comic series about the "most important two people in star wars you never see" and it's about two characters just going around in the background of the series setting off the events that happen in the move. Like they're rebles on the ship in the first movie who sneak onto the death star in storm trooper outfits, they steal a tie fighter and go to the nearest planet but on the way it gets blown up by the death star lazer so they fly back only to accidentally buzz the Falcon, then they get put on guard duty outside the tractor beam generators, then as they try to escape again they run into Vader who tells them to come with him. and at the end while on clean up duty they find Chewie's award stuck under the stage.

Later they did a prequal series where the same characters are young Jedi and are trying to help Anakin at one point they're trying to feed him lines through a hidden com but keep arguing so he ends up getting all messed up and saying the "I don't like sand" line trying to pick out their conversation XD.

For real. I actually liked the concept of most of the characters, its just the writers who executed it all so poorly.

Rey should have stayed a "nobody".

Together, with tutelage from Luke, they could have restarted the Jedi.

But now we just have to wait and see what's the what.

Except that the conclusions have nothing to do with Ockham's Razor.

Because a gay man prefers the dicks in others.

I keep on fixing the opening scenes from The Phantom Menace when Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi are acting as mediators.

And then I just picture Rey and Fin in that same capacity, almost like a buddy cop movie. Going out, solving problems, and looking force for sensitive children to be trained in the ways of the Jedi.

You have Poe and Chewbacca and R2 (BB8, not R2, or both) and 3PO rounding out the cast, with poe acting as the liaison to The Republic.

Keep the retro futuristic feel, mash up your westerns and samurais, and just tell good stories that are finally separated from the Skywalker family.
