Technically good morning, for me, since this backread took forever and family business took more time than usual. Girls had a bad day today but nothing serious.

Tomorrow is movie night for me and mine, so I probably won't be too active until much later (if at all). This will likely come across as harsh and judgmental.. but I have this conversation with our employees a lot.

The answer is:

Do your fucking job.

Anyone that says there is nothing to do is just lying to themselves to avoid doing anything because the truth is that they don't want to do anything.

Look at your doors and windows. Are there streak marks? Grab some Windex and take care of it.

Look at your desks and countertops, is there clutter? Take care of it.

Does your job have a coffeepot, microwave, fridge? Are they clean and well maintained? No? Guess who will be appreciated for taking care of that - YOU.

There is always something you can do. You're just lazy or thoughtless if you think otherwise.

I don't think this is harsh or judgemental, though cleaning is in fact not my fucking job. The company i work for hires a cleaning company which cleans everything about 6 times a day, including the evenings. I also don't have access to any of the cleaning materials, as they are in a locked room where only employees of that company (and our first aid team members, who consequently are also not there in the evening) have access. So if i would start cleaning, i would a tually be done someone else their job.

My job is to solve escalations, which is literally in the name of my department. Due to the fact 99% of my work is Ad‐hoc, management decided that we should not have procedural work, as if something happens we have to act fast.

However, as about 80% of people contacting me do not work in shifts, whenever we have late shift they are not working so our workload reduces significantly.

As I'm in a problem solving department, where we have limited fixed work, if there is no problem, there is not a lot to do.

As for the appreciating of other work, I don't even really get that when I'm actually doing my job, as all stakeholders assume it's just regular work for me, even when moving mountains to fix shit, I don't expect to get any for extra work.

Hell, during my last review it was actually stated that they see I do a lot of extra things and they think that all the work I'm doing extra is excellent and that I'm the most experienced person in the team and they will keep giving me extra work to do as they trust I will do a good job with it, but then turn around and say I'm only successful in role ( which is like just a passing grade)

If we get real the actual issue with YouTube now is they removed dislike button. It used to be a nice way to identify shit/bad/stupid content. If it had any amount of dislikes it was a red flag for you to process carefully.

Really, it went downhill after Google bought it. Ads, especially those double-unskippible ones - and the adblock detector sometimes not letting you watch if you have it on (fuck that, then I don't watch it.) Censorship, extreme copyright shit, etc. They some years back made me change my Google PW because they thought my utub account was hacked - their solution was to delete my Youtube account.
