I did have many year ago but I had trouble with them once the online rules got more strict. Sometimes their anit lock codes are dud, so there can get lot of mod compatibility problems. No idea if this still the case with pirate DLC or games, but I honestly am fine with pay. Most times the bas game is free or ridiculous cheap, and on sales I can buy game DLC for next to nothing, so, for the cost it is not worth me to get pirate places. Plus I don't trust those pirates, they may be secret agents trying to steel information from PC hahahaha joking of course, but just not for me. Not unless it is a very expensive game that does not need steam to run it or DLC. GOG games are also often free or very cheap, and just as good as steam.

Still I am cheap so I have been in a situation I just buy base game for convenient access to workshop but still have a fully cracked latest copy where I just copy steam mods into just to be safe.
Only real game I creamapi is Crusader Kings II when it became free. Using a throw away account in a another user in my PC haha.
I generally buy games on 75% sale.......but I was once stupid and young and bought GTA V pre order on steam.
Got my money's worth but it was expensive....still regret paying for it full price haha.

Yeah, I am a cheap ass. It is the economy of today where prices of cost of living are ust terrible. At least double or more, than what they should be, so, I don't dispute about try to get pirate or free games. Just I had trouble with those old fashioned creampie games. Something about their coding broke the game. I am no expert by far, but to be honest, if you look through steam sales, often those $50 to $100 games can be 50% to 80% off at times.

That's what I do with Resident Evil and Final Fantasy games. just buy the $10 to $20 max. Cheap is my middle name, and ass is my last name, so, this cheap ass vampire waits patiently for those budget prices. I can afford that price if I save, but if I really love the game, like Age Of Empires 2, I will also buy DLC, but they need be on sale. (I have them all all ready, but used example there).
