Play The Isle, spend many hours growing my Dino, go get a drink of water when almost fully grown. Sudden jumpscare from Deinosuchus jumping from the depths + instant death of my little dino. Rage quit so many times

Never played The Isle, have looked at it a ton, but I don't know if it's for me.

Eternum has an overarching plot. And is a good game.
For a games that's already done, you could try out the developers first game Once in a Lifetime.
If you haven't tried it, go try out Cosy Cafe, it's got a pretty good story too.
And if you don't mind sandbox elements Lucky Paradox is another with some time travel? Dimension hopping? Something in that style.
