Did HH end? I feel like I haven't seen it in forever. I think I last checked up on it like a year ago and it was still at the same place.

I am not sure, I just meant the end of the content that existed when I was playing it. I haven't played it in quite a while, so not sure if it was finished or abandoned (or I just missed the updates).

It's still being worked on but the developer's father died and he took a long break from the game
I think the only update since then was v0.18 but he is still working on it

You think that change is because a lot of people got the coins they needed then stopped posting, or just because interest has died off in general? I'd guess the first, but haven't been around enough to recognize a general decrease in activity.

How long do you keep out an offer before you cancel it? A couple of days? A week? A couple weeks? Longer? Never?

Not that I've ever done such a thing, just curious, in case I do.

Depends on what is offered, but I would say max a week, if they don't even have time to write a little reason for not doing it, then it could be less.

Harem Hotel is more kind of a like a sand box VN, but Eternum is not, but does have choices that matter. Also the story is really different between the two with themes.

Would you say Eternum's story is open-ended (i.e. no obvious goal/event progressing the story) or is there an overarching plot? From the synopsis, it sounds like the latter. I played Pale Carnations for the first time recently and enjoyed it a lot, and I see Eternum mentioned alongside it sometimes. Any recommendations for similar games/VNs with a story focus? It was probably the mystery elements that got me hooked (and the character writing).

Eternum has an overarching plot. And is a good game.
For a games that's already done, you could try out the developers first game Once in a Lifetime.
If you haven't tried it, go try out Cosy Cafe, it's got a pretty good story too.
And if you don't mind sandbox elements Lucky Paradox is another with some time travel? Dimension hopping? Something in that style.
