Ehh, there is nothing to it. As long as it's not low effort or spam, a double post can happen, and I try just to merge them, when I notice them.
I've never seen one either. We don't have many here, or if we do, they are pretty good at hiding.

In the states raccoons are normally associated with rabies here, so you don't go near them unless they are known clean. One of a friends cats got bit by a raccoon and had to be put down immediately as it was frothing at the mouth in minutes.

In certain parts of the USA people mostly think of them as food (along with opossums, squirrels, rabbits and so on) I personally think that Pangolins and Red Pandas win the cuteness award but in parts of China they are simply considered an expensive delicacy
