Still a little more than two hours until 2025 for me, but thought I'd wish my fellow Lewders a Happy New Year as I officially kick off my NYE tradition of the last several years: charcuterie & wine. Instead of bubbles, I've got a nice Spanish-style red blend from a California vineyard I like.
After the snack, I'll put the cornbread in the oven to go with the midnight black-eye peas (it's a Texas and Southern US tradition, and, yes: while we comprise what is the Southern Central US, Texas is its own thing

).
So, cheers, Lewders, and Happy 2025!

And, sad as it may seem that I'm spending NYE doing this rather than being a party with friends or family, I kind of like the solitude of hearing the fireworks around me, having my snacks and wine, and not worrying about how I'm dressed or whether I'll be safe to drive home later.
