Only played like half of the first one, never got around to complete it, and then never played the following games.
And by now, I'm not sure, I will, but could be surprised one day.

Honestly? Witcher 3 is kinda a "must have played" if you even remotely like games like that xD And it works really well even without having played the first 2 tbh, which I probably wouldn't do anymore today, because they are really janky and that feels nowadays Tho there is a Witcher 1 remake in the works if I remember right

Most of the game is just behind the base price, the DLCs are mostly deco block, with a couple exceptions that add more styles of utilities already in the game.
Also sites like humble bundle usually have bundles whit the game and DLCs for a fraction of the total price.

I've had good experience with the site isthereanydeal when it comes to getting games cheap. Shows the price history of games, so you can judge if a discount is a deal or not. Let's you set up email notifications with filters and rules, so for example when a game drops to "n" $/€ or lower you get an email, but only if it is sold without DRM or can be activated on Steam, but excluding Indiegala (fucking hate indiegala...) . I have not paid full price for a game for years now.
