Damn, a work weekend huh, I hope you do have a nice one regardless then.
Morning to you DH1087!
Personally I enjoy the days after christmas, where all the christmas candy is on a good discount, because it's "out of season".
But yeah, I can see how it can stress people out, never has me though, I only have to buy a couple or so presents each year.
In mine we have a system where, when you're above 18, it's not expected to get you presents. Our family always expect us to buy each other presents. I envy you.
Agree the 25th to 30th is the sweet spot. Anything after and you realise where the holidays have gone and soon you will be back at work.
We just like getting presents for each other in my family. We usually just go based on what we can afford. In mine we have a system where, when you're above 18, it's not expected to get you presents.
But for that we have a little pull system were we draw a name of one of us, and have to buy for that person.
So everyone at least gets one.
And me and my sister always buy one for each other at least.
Christmas went from family vibs to just long resting period before new year for everyone.
And yes, sometimes we absolutely fail to stick to the affordability part.We just like getting presents for each other in my family. We usually just go based on what we can afford.

Yeah, we still have the old sibling dynamic, where we like to annoy each other, but we're still close!
And I end up going overboard for her too.
