Heya Calogrenant. nice to see you.

a woman says thanks for stopping by in front of her

deadpool 3 was the last good marvel/x-man movie, we will never see another one.
Sorry, are you saying that we'll never see another Deadpool movie, or that we'll never see another good marvel/x-man movie? I'm not sure you're wrong on either account, but wasn't sure which you were indicating. I liked Deadpool 3, but didn't think it was the best of the series.

I like X-men a lot, but don't know what it would look like to bring them into the current Marvel stuff. I'd also worry that it would be no good.

I don't know a lot about music in the technical sense, but admire those who do. I listen to music, and sometimes it just speaks to me. There are some things that just give me shivers. For guitar, David Gilmour can do that to me. Does do that to me. I'm not able to clarify why I think a musician is special, just that their work means something to me. For drummers, perhaps Neil Pert or John Bonham. I don't know enough about music to say with certainty that any one musician is among the best. I'll leave that to you and others that know more about the topic.

The beauty of music as a language is that, when done right, speaks to our instincts, to our souls, if you will. You don't need to understand its rules as you don't really need to think about the rules of your own language when speaking with someone. That's what makes people like David Gilmour great.
To give you a real example. This is a ballad from one of my heroes. Listen to it and tell me that his solo isn't the natural continuation of the lyrics.

One last thing... if one of your acquaintances disparaged Neil Peart... well I would disparage his tastes.

Good point on the age having an impact on rankings -- mine for bassists starts with Bruce, Kaye and Mingus and most modern "kids" don't even know who they are

That's really sad, Bruce, that, if I remember correctly, never made into watchmojo top ten rock bassists, was the first "bass hero", well before Clarke or Jaco.
Carol Kaye has played on so many hits that everybody heard her at least once and Mingus is a giant in every sense of the word (not an easy listening for the average music comsumer, I have to admit).

Hiya All. Hope the days been well.
watched Mandolorian and Bubba Fett (it was NOT Boba Fett), and quit after watching Kenobi. I have heard Andor is really good, but the amount of apathy that Disney has engineered into my heart for something I absolutely loved... I can't bring myself to watch anything they are doing now. Now KOTOR. YES! Would love to see a new one... made by a good studio who isn't going to ruin it.

Always hold on to hope, although don't know about game studios today.

I'm usually very critical of music rankings for obvious reasons and since history is one of my interests I tend to look at those rankings with an "historical" eye.
To make an example, if you rank bass players (a random choice, of course) by popularity within the general public, Flea would probably hit top three.
If you ask bass players, anyone below 30/35 years old will have Victor Wooten as undisputed number one. But neither Flea nor Victa would be the musicians they are today without Marcus Miller, Stanley Clarcke and Larry Graham.

I don't know anything about bass players but feel what you're laying down. I hear people talking about lead guitarists and drummers and the like and it really seems like they don't hold a candle to musicians in bands that I've admired over my years, and those were no doubt influenced by others before them. I have my own slice of history that seems most relevant, but it's just the slice that I'm familiar with.

Hey, I'm gonna jump in and share my favorite, R.I.P:cry: Cliff Burton. Definitely worth a listen, few times if never heard before.

Yeah, it's odd what speaks to a person. I like a lot of heavy metal. One of my favorites is Iron Maiden. Their guitarists aren't among the best of all time, but they have two lead guitarists, and mesh them both into songs in a way that speak to me.

My favorite singers are probably Freddie Mercury and Shinead O'connor (she hit notes that make me quiver). Favorite guitarist David Gilmour. Drummers Neil Pert and John Bonahm.

You were never part of the guessing game. Just a pawn in my evil scheme to take over LC. How that happens by you getting your butthole violated by Conzi.. fuck if I know? But, it sounded like a plan in my head when I thought of it! So, umm..
