When it's about cream, i'm as dangerous as conzi (it was one of my first interaction with him by the way: "i'm a catgirl, i like all sort of cream".)

My last job didn't involve customers. It was a community alternative to prison for parole violators. If one was enough of a dick they went to prison. Or if they didn't like enough they could always ask to be taken there. 90 days there was probably better than who knows how long they'd go back for. Also, you'd be surprised grown men who been through state prison would be crybabies.

Damn, I was telling Slum that I was done catching up on work, and dealing with that, but it snuck back up. I go to work on that for a few, and five pages of comments since! I'm pleased to share that I back-read and am caught up.

I have a strict three beer email threshold. If I've had more than three beers, absolutely no work email. I'm beyond that now, so the evening is mine!

Fun coffee fact: the Japanese found a solution for this in the 1600s, coldbrew / koyoto style coffee. This type of coffee gets made by putting ground coffee beans in water, and leaving it for a day. After that you strain it and serve it over ice.

Fun fact, if you stick good coffee grounds in a percolator, french press, or god forbid even a coffee brewer, you can get something that's worth drinking. What is this thing with cold coffee? Urgh. Chilling it subdues the flavor. I'll never understand it.

I live in a desert, it's the middle of October and we're still seeing temps near 100F.

Sometimes I just want something cold to drink....

Though my favorite local coffee shop does a pseduo-Vietnamese iced coffee that I love. 5 shots of dark roast espresso with condensed milk over ice. It's not the same as proper Vietnamese iced coffee (which I also enjoy) but is damned tasty in its own right. Also enough caffeine to keep even ME functional for a short while.

I always like how Anne Rice did her vampire lore overall. She had a great style of writing.

I agree. She is a very good writer. I never read her books because my English not good enough to understand English text properly, but I heard very good reviews, and The Vampire Chronicles were decent. I think they made movie from her work? I should try to find Japanese translation. I am certain there is one somewhere.

Guess who got a shiny new (refurbished) ROG Ally this week?~

I hope you have great fun with it. I have a very old ROG G20 and am in process of update it. Just put in a new GPU and soon SSD because the C drive is just big enough to boot up. I think the new ones are still very good. At least they look decent. Anyhow, have fun and hope it all goes well.

I can sympathize. In defense of good coffee, most places serve it WAY hotter than it should be. They boil water and use that, and keep it hot, and serve it hot, while coffee should be brewed about 15 degrees F cooler, and served about 50 degrees F cooler than the brewing temperature. Too hot and the taste buds get stung, too cold and they are numbed. Coffee is best around 150 F. Foods should be served cooler than that, unless it's a desert.

The exception is if it's crap coffee, or crap food. Then all bets are off.

But I suppose I can understand ice coffee if I'm already sweating my ass off. I don't personally partake, as it's not really good coffee at that point, and there are other drinks that seem better cold, but can definitely see that it might be different if I lived in a warmer region.

Should note I still drink hot coffee too. Hell, I probably have more coffee making gadgetry in my kitchen than actual cooking gear.... though given how hard my local water is it's often a battle to actually make anything that doesn't taste like chalk and pool runoff.

My tongue is sensitive. Even when the temperature is the proper one for most people, I usualy get burnt. Hahaha

I like iced coffee, but I also don't like coffee, so the further away from pure black coffee (like mild, chocolate, etc.) the better for me.
