Nah. Corona still produces a lot of beer in bottles. The ones I have tonight are in bottles.

But bottles let in light. Darker bottles are an effort to mitigate the light that hits the beer. When light hits beer, it causes a chemical reaction called photooxidation, and that is what makes beer taste skunky. When beer sits longer, it gets even skunkier, at least if it is bottles.

So, if you're in an area, or buy from a store, which doesn't sell a lot of Corona, the beer sits longer soaking in the light, and will almost always taste skunky. This isn't usually caused through the supply chain, as this is carefully controlled. It's normally caused after the beer gets to the store, and sits around soaking up the light.

When Corona gets skunky, it's god awful. When I want a Corona, I know which stores around me rotate their stock regularly, and those who don't, and always get it from a place that has fresh bottles. Otherwise, fucking forget it.

But, Corona also produces it in cans. Some people have a prejudice against cans, thinking them low-brow, thinking the old fashioned glass container is better. But that's only because they don't understand beer, and how the light fucks it up. Modern lined cans make sure the beer stays as good as if it was on-tap. But even my local stores still stock it in bottles, because that's what the fools think they want.

It's not like I've studied my alcohols at all.
