I have mine on monitor arms so I can turn the screens sideways if I need it. Maybe that's an option for you? A fixed sideways screen would see very little use on my pc I think.

I have crappy arms on my workstation at the office, but I've seen really nice ones. Mostly at the office when I move one it's a pain to get it back in the right place. I have some OCD about that. But it's a nice idea. Perhaps I'll poke around and see if there is something more professional to get that would be easy to rotate and rotate back. Thanks for the tip.

I don't know if I'll really like the rotated view either. I've seen people use it on TV and stuff, but don't know people actually like it after they try it. I suppose I could duct tape one of my monitors in place to try it.

Only thing I would suggest is to preplan train depots. Where you plan on placing them. I've found for myself that the tractors sadly aren't reliable enough. I've had the paths break multiple times, or they used to.

As for buildings in the air I always build a support system even if it's not needed to make it more aesthetic

I started in the Dune Desert, my starting location was near the south end of the biome so my general plan is to set up a train depot there and just use that biome for creating/storing items for building/opening crash sites. Then the rest of the map is nice and virgin for me to shave its bushes and drill its resources.

That is kind of a game changer, soo easy to make "good" looking belts now!

I could see getting a third but I would have to redo my entire desk setup and I'm too lazy for that. Right now I have no idea what I would do on a 4th screen though.

I got two new monitors so I could finally have double monitors and decided to try using my old as a third, standing vertically. After setting it all up I thought it was cool at first, but then I looked at my desk and after reflecting upon myself I realized I looked like an absolute tryhard and no bitches would take me seriously

IMHO, best is to also have a monitor that can detect it's physical orientation (pretty common i think?), then the OS usually switches the graphics orientation automagically , so one can turn it to portrait, back to landscape, and portrait again, then landscape, and so on until someone comes over and slaps you out of it.


For those that has laptops, and want's an extra monitor for that laptops, there are a few software solutions if you have a tablet. For Windows + Android I think that Spacedesk is decent for a free setup. Yeah, it will lag a little bit, and the ratio might be a bit off. But it works well for stuff like having a text visible (article, webpage etc) while writing something in the main window.
