I don't know that I've ever used old UNIX, but I vastly prefer Linux desktop distros to Windows. If they had better driver and game support I'd ditch Windows in a heartbeat.

I dual-boot, and I agree with this 100%! I miss Red Hat Linux from when I was a kid.

I've run into video driver problems, I tried using Fedora and even Ren'py VNs had abysmal performance because I had to set them to software rendering. That was on a random Windows laptop I was dual booting though, maybe there are distros or cards with better support if I were going to put together a desktop.

I am using Fedora and never had any problems with Ren'py so doubt it is a distro problem.
