SORRY JUST STARTED BLASTING!
WATCH WHERE YOU ARE AIMING I DID NOTHING (That can be traced back to me)
Sad thing is they make more money if they try less to pander and just made good stores.I agree -- the first sequel might be ok - then they do a relaunch then a sequel then again and again - Ghostbusters is another good example . At a certain point you know they are just milking it for the cashYou must be registered to see attachments
Exactly. It'd be like making a sandlot sequel where everyone is old out of shape. What's odd is a sequel of a movie where the MCs were kids so much later that they are middle aged. It's hard to imagine what exactly they'd do with it.

Unfortunately for me, what you're saying is totally true.Without the villain winning from time to time, which is almost only in horror movies, they are never a true threat to the *hero*
The avengers movie where Thanos snapped and they lost is my favorite one because it sets up a heroes comeback (which was done terribly)
Movies always start with villains being smart and getting dumber/weaker as the mo is goes on
I'm doing a lot of X-Men references but I just finished watching the classic animation and JUST starting '97.In a good heroic story everything should be going to shit for the hero for most of it. That's why people like Empire Strikes Back, because seeing Luke get beaten over and over makes people want to see him win in the next movie (unfortunately the next movie had Ewoks, but at least the scenes on the Death Star were good). The problem is that there are a lot of bad writers out there who are getting big budget jobs for "some reason" (politics are disallowed on this site) who can only write about heroes that were powerful all along, and are too stupid to write smart villains.
You can have good stories where the villains win, but unless it's a comedy that's a pretty big downer for the audience. Like, nobody comes away from reading 1984 feeling optimistic about the future.
Those that come to mind are popular. Chances are you've seen them. Being an old fuck, I forgot if there's more than the 3 I'll mention.Got some recs where the villain wins? I too hate when the hero comes out ahead by some kind of ass pull.
