That comment came off more dickish than I intended. Sorry.
Honestly, NDSU should have won that game. Probably would have if it was in Fargo, ND.
I blame being around NDSU, SDSU and CU fans for the past couple years.

The CU fans are the worst of the bunch, like they didn't go 4-8 last year.
The beginning of last year was a lot of shit-talking, then not so much after they lost 6 in a row to end the year.
Since last week and yesterday, it began again.
That's about normal for all fans in all sports. Everyone thinks their team is the great and thinks they will always win it all. They will think that way until the very last moment. Then as soon the season is over they start all over again

Hey Slum what's that mean?

My guess would have been the word Anime...

...having drunk a WHOLE bunch of beers before typing it.
🍺🍻🍺
It seems most developers now are leaning towards shorter games these days. Just painful when there's a game you really love but it runs out of content
Yup. That's too bad.

For me, I'd rather play 1 game a year, but then I get to play it for the whole year.

I tried games as a service with EverQuest (1 month before the launch of Kunark i.e. I barely qualify having been on Vanilla launch).
Too much pressure to play the game instead of others because I'm paying monthly. Games as a service is over for me.

Now, I'm getting older games as a rebate and playing the shit out of them.
Ex: I finished Arena, Daggerfall (both using DOS emulators), Morrowind and Oblivion. I just started Skyrim this year. Feels like it'll take me a year, maybe more.
Maybe they only pirate AVNs since they don't want traces of it in their gaming accounts haha
Yup. This.

I can just imagine playing (made up name) "Generational Inbreeders AVN, Volume 1" on Steam...

... then getting ROASTED by everyone I know going "You are playing... WHAT?!"
That's the way capitalism work. Only thing they understand is greed and money. So they chain produce massive number of goods and service with almost no innovation, of bad quality that they sell at a high prize.
Exactly:

Minimum viable product for maximum profit. 💰💰💰

I'd say more but that'd be political...

If it weren't for games, i would be on linux full time.
Same. I had an old laptop that barely ran after a Windows update, I swapped it with Fedora and now I wish I could use that on my desktop.
People are still playing WoW!
Proof that making a game fun should be the #1 priority.
To keep WoW worth continuing they added a cash shop and you can buy gold for real money from the company. It has a dedicated fanbase because it was really well made (although it dwindles each year, but that's probably a combination of natural decay and lack of great direction, not the microtransactions), but despite being around for 20 years it still only has half the lifetime revenue of Candy Crush (9 billion vs 20 billion). I played Candy Crush years ago, I thought it was fun for what it is but the microtransactions are very prevalent.

I agree that it's more ethical to design games to be fun and get revenue from people wanting to buy them, but the market seems to be showing that pseudo-gambling is better for making money, with the rest of the game designed around making people want to participate in the gambling. Which is why I don't expect AAA to get better anytime soon.

That's about normal for all fans in all sports. Everyone thinks their team is the great and thinks they will always win it all. They will think that way until the very last moment. Then as soon the season is over they start all over again
Never been a sports fan myself but I was under the impression that was part of the fun. You get emotional ups and downs from being invested in your team, even if everyone realizes they don't have any real control over their team's fate and most of the players are probably not from their local area anyway.

My family computer and my dad laptop are on linux. I only have windows on my own computer because of games. For a long time, i had a double boot, with both windows and linux too.

Another round of asking you guys a question and showing off images i found

Is there any game that you never played but still remember because the character(s) looked hot?

In my case its...

IDK what this is from but I like it, it looks weird

I just started Skyrim this year. Feels like it'll take me a year, maybe more.
I got skyrim the first time they released the game of the year edition forever ago and I still haven't beat it.

Yeah, tons. Xenoblade Chronicles 2, X-blades, Tomb Raider, Dino Crisis, BloodRayne, a bunch of Gacha games (although I usually couldn't tell you which girl is from which game). Probably more if I thought longer.

If you haven't played Dragonborn's main story I'd suggest giving it a try. I thought the whole expansion was much better than the base game.

I had to think about this one cause I have what I call swiss cheese brain. hmmmmmm.... Pac Man World 3?
a close up of a pac man cartoon character with a pink bow .

The hideout is kinda a gateway thread. Initially I found it nonsensical and just scattered thoughts, but over time it began to develop a flow and I realized it was a group of fun loving delightfully depraved folks that it was important that I keep an eye on.

I don't think I ever did finish that, I always get distracted with those thousands of sidequests haha

Throw this in the review up top for the thread

I realize that, but it's kind of annoying either way.
It would be like a Lions fan insisting they will win the Super Bowl every year.
The CU fans have seemingly adopted Prime's attitude without any accomplishments.
I felt bad last year when they were getting slapped around at the end of the year, but I will not this year.

That counts, right?

Yay people are talking again! Is this the new shift clocking in?
Battery needs to recharge. And then, what to post without turning into a meme/shorts dump.
Anyways... watched deadpool the other day, I'm glad I went in blind. It was hilarious and full of gratuitous fan service. Anyone else like it? not like it?
Do you guys use survival mod, when you play skyrim?
Back when I played it I used the unofficial patch, and a bunch others to make life easier I think. I still have my 'rich, single mother of two lycan-vamp hybrid with a tsundere vamp waifu that refuses to bed me' savefile in my other busted pc.

Yeah just gotta get that cultist letter at level 9, take the boat to Solstheim and don't come back until Miraak is dead.

I tried it but I'm just not a fan of survival meters. I think Skyrim feels too gamey for me to really get into RPing so swapping clothes also just feels like extra work. It doesn't help that I usually play with skimpy clothes so it's not always obvious which armor is actually intended to cover your arms and legs :ROFLMAO:

I'm not saying it's not. I was just saying that's what most fans are like. Take this as an example. Persons favorite NFL team gives up a big play they react saying their team sucks and are the worst every. Next play they get a turnover now they are the greatest team in the world. That is just how the mind of a sports fan is. Believe me I've done it myself for all the different sports teams I'm a fan of

Well Lions fans are normally
a man in a suit and tie is holding a woman in a black dress who is screaming and holding a feather

Wait we aren't just supposed to dump memes in here?
a woman is making a funny face in front of a microphone .
a cartoon drawing of a corn on the cob with the words so sorry written around it

I finally watched that, I even went to the theater for the first time in years! I loved the movie, hardly any plot but it delivered on the laughs and honestly that's what I want from a deadpool movie

At this rate, Elder Scrolls 6 will be ready to release by the time you finish everything

That seems like a poor comparison, IMO.
It's like comparing how many phones have been sold to how many consoles have been sold.
Everyone has a phone. Candy Crush is played by hundreds of thousands of senior citizens. Children, moms & dads, businessmen and housewives alike.
Markets that WoW would never reach.

People were surprised that Micro$oft spent $70 billion to buy Activision. But don't think about King Games that was included.
They got Candy Crush and WoW

I got skyrim the first time they released the game of the year edition forever ago and I still haven't beat it.
You don't beat Skyrim. You complete athe mian missions.
So you can spend time completing side missions and building houses and terrorizing Whiterun

Do you guys use survival mod, when you play skyrim?
I started it, but found it irritating.
I've played too much Skyrim to want to worry about carry weight that much.

If I use the survival mode with a tavern full of sex workers, do I have to feed them daily?
