I don't remember if I ever tried rum, but I usually don't like pure drinks. I like the ones who are fruity and such. Love some Moscow mule! (Which I just noticed that Brazil also changed the recipe, adding a ginger foam. Hahaha)

Oyster and mussels are not really similar (flavor-wise).
The closest common thing would be scallops.
As for imitation crab... I love that shit! And, it's close-ish. They do add a little flavor to make it closer flavored.

Never had scallops.
I was supposed to have some at a restaurant when I went to a coastal city, but we had some problems and had a change of plans.
But I'm sure I would like both the scallops and the crab.

Hi! I'm just going to sleep, actually.
I won't work monday, so even tough saturday has already passed, I basically still have two more days of weekend, so that's exciting, I guess. Hahaha

Never had scallops.

If you get the chance, you should. There are two basic types: bay scallops (smaller) and diver scallops (the big ones most people think of).

The smaller ones are usually much less expensive and are fun to do simply at home - I've done them lightly with butter and garlic, or tossed in some hot sauce, then eaten them over spaghetti, or something like that. The diver scallops are much more delicate - they are perfectly done in a hot pan, lightly seasoned and seared in butter. Just this pure, beautiful thing.

If you ever go for sushi, the thing I like to get for "dessert" is the hotategai nigiri - it's usually done with raw chopped bay scallops, Japanese mayo and masago (a bright orange fish roe for those that may not know), usually garnished with a little chive. I order them "spicy" and they'll usually mix in some sansho or, in some places, Sriracha.

I'm a great fan of most creatures that have lived in the sea.

Never thought I'd like the stuff, but when I was going through recruiting out of college several of the firms liked to have the lunches at a place that did wild game in addition to the normal steaks, etc. In the same way TexMex places put out chips and salsa or Italian places put out bread and olive oil, this place put out foie. Tried it and decided I really enjoyed it. It became a favorite place for me to take clients and recruits after graduation - sadly, it closed down shortly after I transferred to another city, and wasn't there anymore when I came back. I don't do it often now, but will get it about once a year around my birthday.

And I'll always take duck a l'orange, or any crispy, savory duck. A favorite is a version done in Thai red curry - it's crispy before it's placed in the curry for serving.

I'm from the region where foie gras is originally made, so i really like it but yeah i feel bad for how they do it.

Yeah, more specifically between the chair and keyboard at the other end of the telephone line...

Some users are sooo stupid. I had one guy tell me that the network was slow and that it was my job to fix it.
I told him to unplug the Cat5 cable from his NIC and blow into it, because some times the data would "log-jam" in the cable.
He said he would try it.
(He called back 10 min. later to tell me that the network was much faster now. I didn't bother telling him that incremental back-ups were finished on the server... why make him feel any dumber, right?)

Icognito keeps the caches/history cleaner and I prefer to have a VPN running. Just my preference.

You can ignore cringe members (I hit the limit on my first life there), but not the activist mods that chase you around the threads looking for the least little thing that might be a couple of degrees off topic. The mod they have assigned to the most popular VN there (well top two, at least) actively tries to destroy the thread then follow around the participants to try to find reasons to penalize. It's because several of those mods seem to be in the camps of the "cringe" members - possibly their alternate accounts. They'll let things pass that are absolutely egregious by the cringe faction while immediately nailing anyone negatively reacting to a cringer with sanctions. It's kind of like the school bullies that grew up to be "teachers" that turn a blind eye to what the current gen bully does, but punishes the kid that finally smashes the bully in the face or finds another way to make him cry.

I always have my VPN going- just in case.
Of course, my AVN have tried to become conscience now- not sure what's up with that...

Yeah, I just don't post there. (Period) I sneak in- grab my stuff and sneak quietly back out. I search by "tags", but that's about it.
Even just the conversations there aren't as interesting as they are on LC.

All you can eat? Oh yeah, they have a buffet place not too far from me and after 5:00 PM they break out the steak and crab legs (they only give you 5 at a time, BUT there's not rule about going back 10-20 times). Plus they have a really great Sushi bar too.
I can spend couple hours eating at that place...

I grew up with imperial measurement, and can say that metric measuring (mm,cm,m,km) is superior.
But, as for ambient temperature on the human body, Fahrenheit is a better descriptor. But, that's how I was raised, too.

Exactly i agree. Although I don't understand Fahrenheit. I don't even know how to say it properly lol, but I will convert to C if people talk about it. Only thing I feel is I wish the world would just have one of them not both. I don't understand the sense of F and C. Just seems to confuse people more than anything, but yes, its how we grow up.
