Some of them, like the barbecue ones, usually you serve your food at the buffet table, but most of them you have to wait for the waiter. Usually it's okay, but I had experiences when there's wasn't enough of them, or you asked for food and it took a long time. In a sfiha (lebanese food) all-you-can-eat one time I ate less than 10 of them, even though I certainly could eat like 50. We asked, asked, asked and the food never came.
We complained to the manager and at least they gave us a takeout box with some some of it (which obviously they don't do in these types of restaurants). It was less than I could've eaten if somebody bought the food, but still better than nothing.
But I also heard compliants that were like very, very, veeery dumb and obvisouly the client was at fault.

I've only been to an "all you can eat" that did not like and it was a mexican one. They had all this fancy regional food on display, so we gave it a try. The food on display was not part of the buffet.
The food available wasn't bad in itself, but it was obvious all the good dishes were there just so you could see them and order from the menu.
We had to go elsewhere to eat afterwards because they did not refill the trays at the rate people went through them, not by a very long shot.
People did not go more than once, since everyone realized it was most likely a scheme to have people order from the menu after paying for the buffet or leave hungry.
Someone even made a gross graffiti on the wall
Only place I though was a waste of money. It's, obviously, closed.

people argue that it's a kids show, I disagree, the writing was always good. it also makes me sad that littlest pet shop ended after season 4 while mlp only become better after season 4.

If Equestria at War, the Hearts of Iron 4 MLP mod, is anything to go by the show is actually pretty hardcore. Giulio Beakolini was pretty on-the-nose

Here these types of restaurants are already part of the culture. Sushi, pizza, barbecue, pasta, crepes, mini burgers and appetizers, asian, arab/lebanese, mexican and many more. There was even some milkshake all-you-can-eat at one point!
I eat a lot, but most people don't eat that much, I think one of the "charms" is the variety. You can eat a little of each instead of buying a single big plate, and also most of them charge for the drinks, so there's profit.


Tthe ones in my area are usually slightly more expensive than à la carte, but like I said, one of the charms is earing more variety. (But people like me and my friends do get ours money's worth, we eat a lot. Hahaha)

Never ate it. I heard people praising duck à l'orange, I've always wanted to try it.
And I'm kind conflicted towards foie gras. I know it's cruel, but it also looks good.

There's a couple of chains in the US that are "Brazilian" all-you-can-eat steakhouses, that's interesting that they're actually somewhat accurate.

Oh, I'm pretty much the same way. I'll use the air fryer to combat having to use the oven. That way I don't die in my kitchen.

Burgers, hot dogs, some chicken breasts. Kinda hitting everything. Got some brats on the stove brewing in some beer. Oh, trying your hand at perchance, huh? Nice.

Air fryer has been a life saver

Dang that is everything! Having some people over or just doing some meal prep? Beer brats yum, what beer you using? Yeah now I'm in the P4 area I see these fun threads and want to participate over there too, but I'm not having much luck so it might be a thing I do on my next break from work where I look up and learn how to actually play with these things instead of just playing around blind.

Personally I think foie gras is overrated so if your on the fence and feel bad about it I would say you're not missing much and to get the duck à l'orange instead.

Does every potluck you go to have 5-8 potato salads, too?
I went to one this summer where nobody coordinated anything. 8 Bowls of potato salad, 15 bags of chips, 5 coleslaws, 5 pasta salads, lots of cookies and brownies and a pie.
Nobody, brought any kind of main dish. 45 people, and not a burger, brat or chicken drumstick to be found. We had to order KFC!

Oh I'm going to eat my moneys worth at these places.

I see you are a fellow fatty of culture as well.
Have to find a buffet at a casino, that's where the good deals are.
They really hook up the good food for decent prices, too.
They know they'll make their money back after everybody is bloated and sitting at the slots, dumping dollars in.

You are braver than me then, I'm hesitant to turn on my oven right now cause it increase the temp in the house so much. People call me crazy cause I usually don't grill much during the summer, I prefer it during fall and winter. What you grilling some steaks, ribs?

You guys grill inside?
My grill is outside, that way there's only a few minutes of sweltering heat and the n retreat back into the AC.
I guess that's a benefit of having a yard...

Haha yeah no coordination at all but I would kill for some potato salad. It's more like 7 people grab things from the same 3 fast food places, 3 giant box's of chips, and then a thousands deserts, lucky if anyone actually brings a main outside of the fast food. Oh and maybe a dip or two

I have few pleasures in life, food and alcohol and i guess now this site so you bet your ass I will indulge in them in excess when possible! haha

In Vegas great buffets. I went to Brazilian Steak House there near Planet Hollywood I think, amazing we had a deal for like two hours all you can drink like well drinks from the bar while there our waiter extended it for us, I think we were at that place for like 5 hours
