In the backreading I'm only about 200 pages away from where I hopped in on the thread.....so in other words, no nothing exciting

A fresh example closer to home were the Covid experience, where the lockdown violation hotlines were busy with people ratting out their neighbors, people being ejected from planes when they couldn't get their baby or toddler to keep a mask on and on and on.

I think about that C.S Lewis quote a lot these days.

Personally i think people should care about their own business and not what is in other people panties.

If you are unable to separate fiction from reality, any arbitrary slight or wrong deserves punishment.
That type of thing is driven by guilt, fear or disgust, IMO, not morality.

Following on from this, isn't there a school of thought that the most ardent homophobes are actually deeply closeted homosexuals who cannot reconcile with their sexuality. If true would that mean that those who report certain elements of fiction do so because they actually like it but they are afraid to admit it.

that's a problem in a month from now. Until I hit P4 that thread for all intents and purposes doesn't exist to me....But instead of being ecstatic like most I think I will have an overwhelming feeling of dread once I do hit P4 because then I will have to start chipping away at that beast of a thread

Love this show, 1st season is still the best in my opinion

I have to agree- although some of the stuff he does in Season 2 is kinda unexpected...(the train).

Snark and dry wit really suit my sense of humour as does clever wordplay.

Not seen Resident Alien. Will have to keep my eyes open, but Alan Tudyk has usually been golden in whatever I've seen him in.

Oh, you definitely have to check it out. He plays a "unique" character- and I doubt many actors could pull this one off...he just nails it!

Yes, Back in the day I actually had an all in one device (don't remember the brand) that had a hard drive, a dvd burner, and a VHS player + it could receive cable TV signals (before digital) I used it at the time to burn some VHS to DVD.

Yeah, I remember those thing being kinda tetchy- even back then.
Plus there wasn't any compression so it was 1:1 thing- you had 300 VHS tapes, you now had 300 CD-R's...
AND I just learned the heart-breaking facts about "disc-rot", so... I guess, in the end, none of it matters.

It was the right thing to do at the time, the AIpocalypse was in full swing and mods were stressed to the breaking point...so I did what I could do to ease their load the tiniest bit. That it wound up being unnecessary in the end doest nullify the intent behind the action.
While I somewhat regret the loss if the images in context, I don't regret doing what I did because it was the right thing to do.
