I actually never made an epic account, nor supported them in any avoidable way. When they came onto the scene and started paying publishers to keep games off of other platforms that was a huge red flag for me.

Unfortunately it doesn't make any difference at all since epic is clearly well versed in tempting people with loss leaders and giveaways.

At least I can comfort myself with knowing I'm not part of the problem even if I'm also not part of the solution.

they can redesign however they wish doesnt mean we should let em get away with it. while eu has alot of improvement to make in terms of our standards we do at least have standards unlike the US or asia someone saying africa has standards is someone making a joke about raping and killing.

Honestly, I think the Ariel outcry about her being played by a black actress was mostly just plain racism... ariels "race" or color was never really part of the character... she is a damn mermaid... that is not like letting a black man play Napoleon or something. The movie was shit, but that is a completly different matter (And personal taste, considering the high audience score it has on rotten tomatoes). Now, I say mostly, because it was indeed a kinda weird decision (and why not change it up properly if you already started to change things) and I am sure there are people that really just thought about it in the way you describe, which is fair enough, I mean, those people would find an all white cast for a live action Moana movie shit too.
But lets face it, a biiiiig amount of those that complained about Ariel would not complain about the mirrored thing happening in a live action Moana... it is fine to call out racist shit, even if it coincidentally overlaps with reasonable complaints of non-racists

Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim
Cleopatra
Joan of arc
Margaret of Anjou
(Among others)

It's like you take Tom hanks and make him play Martin Luther King, I don't support that kind of thing, and that there are people trying to justify it its what bothers me, as this has become some kind of twisted "war" being pushed by political agendas and/or radical points of views.

At the end of the day, the stupidity goes both ways.

but it is a war in the US! funneled by the corporation owned state to make sure they will buy into whatever product or narrative that suit their investors interest. There are after all people who think chocolate milk comes from brown cows an that the earth is flat. all funded by organisations whose only goal is to cause rifts between your average dumbass. at least they got holes so some use to the greater good they can still have ^^
