How do you feel about this test then. Full disclosure, in order to demonstrate the power of the condition the aircraft was chained to the ground and oleos emptied of gas pressure prior to shutting down the engines. If this was allowed to happen on a normal aircraft with inadequately inflated oleos and tyres it would tip the aircraft over.

Didn't the older ones have structural flaw in the center that caused them to collapse in on themselves and the rotors would just shred the entire chopper? That's how that got the (unfortunate) nickname "The Meat Grinders".

Not that I am aware of though I cannot be definitive. The most common structural issues for helicopters tend to occur around the main lift frames where the rotor gearboxes are mounted due to the various lift, torsional and vibration loads being focused in these areas. Though these area's are subjected to regular visual and NDT inspections to detect any cracking early so that it can be repaired prior to any actual failure of the airframe.
