Welcome fellow newbie

I'm personally looking forward to Madeon's new album Victory, whenever that (hopefully) gets released this year. While I haven't been the biggest fan of the singles released so far, I hope the album will win me over on them. I also wasn't the biggest fan of the singles for his last album, Good Faith, either, but I ended up enjoying the album as a whole and the songs he released in between that album and the start of this new album cycle. I should note that he's an artist whose style of music usually changes drastically from album to album, so if you listen to one album, don't go in expecting the same thing for a different album. Also, if you don't enjoy the first album you listen to, try one of the other ones and see if that's more to your fancy.

I'm also a fan of Porter Robinson, who is another artist whose style changes from album to album. I really enjoyed his album Smile that came out a couple of years ago. He also has an album released under the alias Virtual Self that goes in a different direction from his other albums

Pretty cool! Not a big edm (or whatever you'll call it) fan usually. But with these two you mentioned there seems to be a bit more substance behind it than usual maybe

I have been enjoying an album by hoenix tho. A bit heavy and very atmospheric. Super interesting stuff. Never heard anything like it before.

I have most of the comics/artworks of DirDr/DirDogma, SnowSpecter and WBWorld/Shotastic. How do I go about uploading them? Do any of want them to be uploaded in the first place?

10ac to start a new thread now to reduce site bloat and spamming. While i do understand the why, it's sorta disheartening to know that those of us who use the system without ulterior motives (to gain AC) will now lose some of it in the process, especially those of us who are scratching and fighting for every AC we get. I wonder if there is some alternative compromise that would work. Like penalizing those who are clearly starting new and redundant topics for points. I'm guessing this has already been thought about though and it's too much work to monitor something that can be subjective.

That'd be pretty impossible to enforce, yeah. I don't think any mod wants to make those kinds of decisions. But 10ac seems a very reasonable amount. It's really not that hard to get coins by being social. I've been here 2 days and I've got 300ish

I guess it's just odd that a system designed to encourage being social, the entire AC and ranking systems to gain more access/get more benefits, then penalizes you for posting topics, lol. Note that I'm not even referring to myself here. I don't recall ever starting my own thread on this site. And I know that if someone is determined to gain a lot of points and be social for that purpose it is definitely doable. I think I got members+ in about 2 days back when it happened, but that felt very "not me" so to lose 10ac when there are entire months where that is all I gain just seems like a blow to those of us who are mostly actual lurkers.

Contact an admin or mod. I believe there is an effort (and process) to become an uploader. Pretty sure there are perks involved and worth doing.

Especially if your like me and didn't know there was an issue to begin with. lol. Clearly more going on behind the scenes on a hosted site than I realized. I been a part of several forums over the years and I've never been on one where it was discouraged to create new topics, even ones with built in "rewards for participation" systems.

Maybe a way to get those 10ac refunded? If the thread got enough likes/replies maybe. Might be workable, but no idea how/if it could be coded in.

a popular thread would be it's own reward since the author would gain points at a much higher rate than the 10ac it costs to create it. I think I'm just arguing against my own logic now, lol.

It really doesn't take long, I've found. Obviously don't spam, but you'd be surprised how fast you can rack them up!
