Technically good morning, for me, since this backread took forever and family business took more time than usual. Girls had a bad day today but nothing serious.

Tomorrow is movie night for me and mine, so I probably won't be too active until much later (if at all). It's my wife's turn to choose and rather than forfeit her choice (which she does a lot) she chose to watch Shadow and Bone on Netflix. Which means we'll be watching an episode or two together as a family. She seems to think the MC's remind her of us but upon watching the trailers I think maybe she's being a bit emotional and embellishing.

I spent some time thinking about whether I should even join this conversation, and how to respond to each of you individually - but in the end, I decided to just bundle up my five cents and share it with all of you together.

As you might know, I have a personal no-gift principle, so it would feel hypocritical to be jealous when someone else is gifted something. It’s not, or at least shouldn’t be, any of my business. Plus, Kaity and Lazarus are absolute staples of our little lurking corner, and of everyone who didn’t have P5 yet, they were the most deserving. I genuinely feel no jealousy in their case. If anything, I just miss Kaity being around as much whether it is because of P5, Kitty (no sleaze allowed) club or IRL, and that tugs at the heart a bit.

I remember you loving my story about being in the middle of a storm with my buddies when I was young, it made me smile so big to hear you have a memory of your own involving seeing Mother Nature in all her glory.

"Welcome To The Playground" is SUCH a good song. Not going to lie, me and the family thought Season 2 sucked.. and one of the reasons for that was the music in S1 established things narratively. Welcome To The Playground was the perfect song to showcase the seedy underground of Zaun.

I've mentioned I suffer from night terrors to this day, and some of Unc's images have disturbed me but I will say that I actually appreciate it. Confronting your discomfort, your fears, etc.. is the only way to overcome them.

For me, I actually love spiders. My first pet was a spider and she was lovely - I still miss her deeply.

I had a pet mouse my parents didn't know about for a year. Over the years since, I learned a bit more of rats/mice and how adorable and cuddly they are. When I move from where I currently am, ill be able to have pets again and I plan to have some rats.

I had a pet rat named Persephone when I was in high school. Rats especially get a VERY undeserved amount of hate. Mice and rats are very communal creatures and if you think cats and dogs can be loving and cuddly, you have no idea.

We bought her from a local pet shop and a friend of mine at the time bought one of her siblings - a black rat - and named it Hades. (Pretty sure this Hades was another girl though, haha..)

Because of my night terrors I was terrified of spending time with her outside of playtime but I eventually decided to let her sleep openly with me which ended up becoming a little ritual.

I woke up with her curled up between my neck and collarbone and it was healing to know this tiny little thing was safe around me even when I wasn't fully in control of myself.

I miss her, too.

Well, "where I come from" is hard to say because I don't know what other people around here might think about this question, but my preferred temp is a cozy 72° Fahrenheit.

My wife prefers the cold while I am comfortable in hot temperatures.

(Likely due to my Mediterranean blood while she has Northern European blood - which is a funny conversation in and of itself)

When I was younger, I used to run 16 hours shifts at an industrial job. That job MADE me an alcoholic and caused me issues I am still battling to this day.

I was drinking so heavily and popping so many caffeine pills I woke up one morning, sweating profusely and shaking worse than Michael J. Fox, that my wife (who is pretty quiet, shy, and submissive **don't make jokes about this**) looked me dead in the eyes and said "You're calling in sick, and tomorrow, you're putting in your two weeks notice."

I can't tell you how to live your life. To you I'm just some idiot on the 'net, but I can tell you from experience that pushing yourself like this isn't worth it and it comes with lasting consequences.

I'm in the late shift today, but I haven't had anything to do for the last three hours or so.

This will likely come across as harsh and judgmental.. but I have this conversation with our employees a lot.

The answer is:

Do your fucking job.

Anyone that says there is nothing to do is just lying to themselves to avoid doing anything because the truth is that they don't want to do anything.

Look at your doors and windows. Are there streak marks? Grab some Windex and take care of it.

Look at your desks and countertops, is there clutter? Take care of it.

Does your job have a coffeepot, microwave, fridge? Are they clean and well maintained? No? Guess who will be appreciated for taking care of that - YOU.

There is always something you can do. You're just lazy or thoughtless if you think otherwise.

Fun little story about this kind of thing.

My sister-in-law's youngest sister is deaf and as a result me and a few members of our family have learned ASL.

My little niece, who is not deaf, is rather quiet. So quiet that she might qualify as mute in a few years.

Last Thanksgiving, at our family get-together (which is massive, usually 20+ people) me and my brother were playing around with the kiddos and my niece got so hyper that at one point when my brother told her to take a break and have a drink, she flung her cup because she was so excited but wanted to sign to me and my brother.

We all got soaked in apple juice and it was the funniest thing of the day.

So, long story short - yeah, actually. It can happen!

This is Blur my 2nd favorite of my fur babies. Sorry, not sorry, for ranking them.
She is named after the band and that she's grey which is kind of blurry and she used to run around a lot, like a blur, but now she's a round mama.
I like to think that she thinks she's part chicken sometimes, because she loves to lay on egg cartons. She's a sweet and sassy baby and always eats with us on the dinner table waiting for any kind of meat or cheese scraps. She loves chicken and fish in particular and is very food motivated.

If you like rock & roll, and have not heard of the band The Warning, you owe it to yourself to check them out. I have a feeling they will be one of the biggest rock bands one day, it's just a matter of time.

They are a rare band being that they are an all female band and that all three of them are sisters. They hail from Monterrey Mexico and have been a band for 11 years and are just in their early 20's.
