Utterly and absolutely a lie/misconception that has nothing to do with species and everything to do with starvation. Misattributed to cats' perceived apathy to their owners/companions (which is more often an issue with their owners/companions than anything else).

Speaking as someone that worked for an animal shelter for years when I was younger, just to beat back this notion that cats 'don't care what they need to do to survive' (which is hardly something to fault them for even if true, but whatever)..

Are there any cases where cats did eat their dead owners? (The fact that it was due to starvation should have been abundantly understood in the context given.) Your personal experiences at the shelter are also anecdotal and proves nothing. (For the record, I applaud you working at the shelter. We have several cats and they are all rescues.) Also, I didn't see you correct the lie/misconception about ginger cats being evil. So you accept that as truth but not animals eating a corpse due to starvation? Just checking.

It really wasn't until neko paradise that I realized the world was so open with beautiful other species girls! Dangit. I wanted to insert some neko paradise pics, but I can't find where I put them. BAH!

I agree on the tenth being the best -- followed closely by the eleventh and the fourth -- Though to be honest? My all time favorite characters were a couple of the companions, Amy Pond and Clara Oswald (scary resemblance to @-Bonk- )

I grew up watching the 4th doctor, which is probably why I love his character so much. I love Clara Oswald as well; however, I would have loved to see them continue with the alternate Clara's throughout time story line. They could have let her live for a few episodes, then kill her off (usually) while saving the Doctor. Clara is my favorite companion. I am also a firm believer the Doctor could have saved Amy & Rory!!!! He didn't even try!!!

The problem with Amy is that they didn't know what to do with her.
One episode she was a Top model, the next one a nurse, she was in love with the doctor, then Rory, then she was angry... It was a little bit not cooked all along.

Time to release the inner nerd:

Cats, like many animals and humans actually, don't eat carrion. Decomposing flesh quickly becomes toxic to those who have not developed to eat it.
There are a few serious toxins that bacteria release but they take time to accumulate, and then there is the usually not as dangerous histamine which is not to be underestimated. While the dangerous toxins take a while (many days/weeks) to amass, histamine is in most bacteria, so with exponential growth of bacteria the ammount of histamine grows the same.
If you have ever eaten very large ammounts of smoked and cured products, sauerkraut/kimchi and similar things with high histamine you might have noticed an unpleasant effect it has on your digestion ... if that is a 1, carrion is dailing that to 11 .. and we humans are actually not nearly as sensitive to it as cats are (we usually have an enzyme to break up histamine in our guts, diamine oxidase, but it is quite limited so with enough histamine incoming you'll run out). So even if its not bad enough to have the highly dangerous toxins yet, a deceased body will quickly be unfit for consumption .. and cats instinctively avoid that at all cost, they need fresh meat (as any cat owner who had a cat complain about a half-day-old bowl of food will attest to)

So, you'd need a extremely fresh dead body and an already starving cat to even come close to the posibility for a cat to eat it's owner. And a healty cat can survive for over a week without food.

And ginger cats aren't evil ... just sometimes a bit .. special?
