In some countries in the EU for example if you commited cannibalism you'd be punished but technically your crime would be "desecrating a corpse" not cannibalism per se. If I were your lawyer I'd argue that you bought the meat and someone else desecrated the corpse. as long as you find a "legal way" to obtain the meat (see cutting up your own leg for example) there is no crime whatsoever.

It brings to mind the criminal case of Armin Meiwes, a german that killed and eat a CONSENTING man he met on the internet. And I think the courts only managed of convict him of "assisted suicide" (if not it was murder I would have to open another tab to check and don't feel like it)

Just about literally logged out a few hours ago, I haven't been gone *that* long. But here I am, pages and pages behind. Gonna have to improve my backreading powers with speedreading. Or have @Evil Surgeon gimme new eyes, which is sad because these eyes are pretty good considering there's no need to use bleach.

Kinda felt like the old days to me too. Woke up, and found 109 notifications. Kinda thankful it wasn't REALLY like the old days.. 400 or so and 60 pages to backread every day.

Most countries do not actually have laws about eating human meat.
Most of the time it is just against the law to desecrate them.......
Or how you obtained them.....
....so overall, cannibalism isn't illegal per se....but how you go to get that meat is the thing that is probably illegal.
