I left my old job to get a "safer" and higher paying one just as they went back to the office. I was the only one that didn't go back because as they were going back I was already doing my 30-day notice, so my boss let me finish in home office.
It was a IT support job, where we answered phones. Why the fuck we were going to an office to answer a fucking telephone call from across the country?
It was very nice waking up 10min before the shift starts. Hahaha

Mine was pretty chill. Many times I had to start late in the shift and he never cared much, since he knew I did my job alright.
The decision to come back was solely the company's. Fucking high management.

My thoughts would be to look for "Young Adult" or "YA" books, they're designed for younger audiences, but not children.
They'll probably be written in a way that's easier to understand than one for native speaking adults. Such as "The Hunger Games" series and Harry Potter, etc.

Edit: They're called "Young Adult" novels, because they deal with topics that young adults experience, but they're typically written in a way that young adults could understand and relate to.

I think I found what I was looking for. More than 1 million amateur novels in Japanese. Perfect for Japanese learners. I just started a random isekai and the vocabulary and grammar was no that complicated.
