Yeah, there is some trash games from Japan as well as some decent ones. I didn't know you can get translator for games. That sounds cool and interesting. Yeah, I did once try learn French and also wonder why the lat... La chat. Is feminine because some cat are males, and La maison is also feminine, and so on. Masculine and feminine for objects is unusual concept. Same in Japanese. There is no male/female on every object, just to humans, birds and animals ect like in English. Japanese is simple language and even more simple than English because of spoken grammar. French, Spanish.. those Latino based language and countries have complicate grammar because of words of motion that English and Japanese don't have. Plus bunch other things I forget about now.
That is because how they are written and also the Kanji that those poems was write in. Katakana and Hiragana was not invent yet when some of those old poems was written, even then the scholars and poets used Kanji. This present a huge translation problem because Kanji are not letters like in Latin base words, but symbols, so one symbol can mean many things, just like the Chinese symbols, so when you try to translate to English it is very hard to get the exact meaning. I understand just about all or most old poems but these days even some Japanese find them hard to understand properly because they are write in old style not modern. Kinda like you have old English and new English ect.

I can understand that. I found the interaction between main and side quests a little odd the first time I played. My completionist brain had me chasing side quests and gigs in case the main quest stuff blocked them off but then I got caught out by the waiting times between some of the main quests, though that was more because I try not to use fast travel or time skips in those games.

I've never beaten the game. I'm sort of stuck in a quest that tells you after you begin it you wont be able to do anything else until you finish, and every time I back out and do other things... even though I have literally 2 quest left in the tracker.
