Worst thing was missing episodes or after downloading realising it's the same one you already seen but it was uploaded with the wrong name.. I had this with Naruto a lot back then and not so much with the OG dragonball since that was already old (and aired) so it was way easier to just find. If you spend any time on Limewire back then (and before you figured out to look at the file sizes) I wonder how many times you've heard the Bill Clinton speech because oh boy, I've heard that a lot and it was weird for a Europeain kid. Great times, thankfully now I can just stream stuff and well even downloading in this day and age is a joke since you are not killing the whole household by downloading the new Naruto.
i was lucky enough to get batches of Naruto and bleach on burned CD's from a random mates uncle that had a huge PC tower case with 6 CDRW drives. man the old days of piracy was wild.

Adaptations are almost always bad. Even when they are good and not based on a manga and instead of a light novel like Edge of Tomorrow, you still have to deal with Whitewashing. Or if they a mid like Ghost in the Shell. I did think the Space Battleship Yamato film was decent for a low budget movie though the actor/singer playing Kodai was weak. I hope Akira never gets made unless its a faithful adaptation. A bad Akira would make me furious.

Good non live adaptations like anime adapting something well, i only can think of Akira, Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind, Kiki's Delivery Service, and The Girl Who Leapt Through time. Better than the Manga Ghost in the Shell the animated movie. I also think Mamoru Oshii did better with Urusei Yatsura than Rumiko.

beserk, fullmetal alchemist, hunter x hunter, blame, parasite are some of my favorites
the old berserk anime was pretty cool.
while i liked blame for bringing its unique style to the screen, i wished it was more in line with the manga.

i heard a live action Akira was in the works. i would suggest investing in pitchfork stocks, but seeing as that im a retard and not a financial advisor, im probably just gonna riot with the nearest object and run down the street like a madman.

What is your favorite anime?
- Tokyo Ghoul. (Girls love that shit idk why?)

When did you start watching anime?
- 2002-04 and it was Fullmetal Alchemist

Do you think that you got interested in this type of content due to anime?
- Yeah.

my favorite anime is probably your lie in April, but frieren is a close contender

the first full anime i watched was Eureka seven when it was on adult swim, used to sneak out into the living room every Thursday to catch it. despite really liking it( i still think of it as my actual favorite anime but i have not re watched it in almost 20 years at this point and am afraid if i do i will hate it), i kinda bounced off anime after they stopped showing it and did not pick it up again till down the road a kid i used to hang out with introduced me to elfen lied and that got me back into anime and it stuck at that point.

I enjoyed Goblin Slayer a lot. I prefer more fantasy stuff like it or Berserk. I'm currently enjoying Delicious in Dungeon. The anime that is most nostalgic to me is Tenchi Muyo. Years ago I watched the series' back and didn't think they held up. I did like War on Geminar, however.

Ahh yes the key to everything was to have 2 CD burners in your tower (or your moms tower) so you could rip and burn as you'd please! Tons of people made serious money around where I lived selling music CDs (made by themselves) or just "demo" discs they made themselves with full game rips on them. Not to forget those kids with PS1's who had litteral hundreds of burned games. Oh the nostalgia!

I also love EVA one of my prize possessions is the Death and Rebirth, and End of Evangelion box. It came with a model kit for Eva Unit 01. The Laserdiscs are in CAV format. The box is heavy as heck. I also have some of the first issue DVDS in CD Jewel Cases, a couple of the initial Laserdiscs from Japan, and the DVD boxed set of the films in DTS sound. What i don't have is the Japanese Blu Ray for the TV series or movie. I have the cheapo budget release without Fly me to the moon and the netflix dub. I have the slimpack of the Platinum DVDs from ADV as well.
