For me, the main problem is the cliched plot of most games. Even considering that we are talking about porn games, we need a story that can capture and hold the player's attention, characters that have a certain background and character that can be developed, and finally, relationships should not just be about sex, but should be more realistic, because any relationship has its ups and downs. In one game, which I love very much, for 5 hours of gameplay there were only two sex scenes, but nevertheless I could not get away from this game, because I saw the characters as living people, with their strengths and weaknesses.
But alas, more often than not, the characters are absolutely two-dimensional, devoid of content and personality.
I agree but I also think that most possibilities of how games are configured, setup or written are already made. So I think that its becoming more and more difficult to make something thats original while being financially feasable and done within a reasonable timeline.

Fun factor is sadly forgotten in most games today, and instead profits are prioritized. I rarely play new games, and when I do it is mostly because a friend introduced me to it. But hey, more time for other stuff! So I don't really mind.

A really good game is sadly very rare in today times.

Exactly. Nowadays it feels like a chore rather than enjoyment.
To quote from Reggie "If it's no fun, why bother" which is still relevant today.

I have already seen some real good innovative games that had a "special" story or new ideas getting abandoned, and most of the standard stuff is still in development. So it feels like only the "standard" story seem to have a real chance to get enough support, those with new ideas have often troubles to get it.
