but if Fuck95 is going to stoop so low as to mark a game as abandoned even if the developer has officially stated it's not abandoned just because that same developer hasn't put out a game update in a long time, they could at least mark a game that has been publicly announced as on hold with the On Hold tag.

I agree on most of what you said, but at the same time O.H. or Hiatus Tags should also be used sparingly and taken into revision every so often too. Ive seen a few games that those cucks on Fuck95 have labled as Hiatus or O.H. even though everything about the game/dev has been nuked and the game is deader than a drowned bag of kittens. Granted, going and basing anything off of their rules is really stupid, as those dumbasses can't even agree among themselves what their plainly stated rule is.
Like their no smols rule. So many games get removed because they had a smol but others are left because the obviously smol smol is labeled as a 4000 year old elf demon succubus with a growth hormone deficiency. No consistency.

Just like Sins of the Father, which had a update not long ago.
SotF also showed it's age, so maybe sometime just keeping it abandoned wasn't the worst idea for that game.

I have a bucket full of abandoned excellent games. I often wonder if they're excellent because they were abandoned before the dev had a chance to ruin them though.
