New Year's Day(e) Progress Report - 1/7/26​

HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!
Development on the final chapter of New Year’s Day(e) has officially begun!
Sorry for not posting a New Year’s Day post, I was hungover and wanted to get started on the final chapter of New Year’s Day(e)!
I am so happy to be back with these characters. It’s like coming home in a way. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Siren Song, but I’ve missed these characters.
So, let's see. Over the past week, I’ve written about 1/3 of the story and I have the rest mapped out. I even rendered the first image that this chapter will open with. Only 1-2 thousand more to go!
I am doing my best to tie up all the loose ends and give you and these characters the ending they and you deserve. We’re going to see some pretty heavy scenes balanced out by some lighter fare (Surprise! It’s a Jonesy story!).
I don’t want to give away too much, but suffice to say, it’s gonna be action-packed in more ways than one!
And as I’ve said before, this is only the end of this particular story, not the end of these characters’ stories. We will be hearing from them again in the future, I promise!
As far as a release date goes, without any real way to calculate, I’ll take a stab in the dark and say I am hoping for a June release. Who knows? It could be sooner. June puts it roughly 180 days away. 1500 images divided by 180 = 8.333… images a day. Okay, that doesn’t seem too hard to achieve…I hope…
Alright. I guess I need to go render another 7.333 more images today!

Hey Everyone!

It’s been a few weeks, and I wanted to pop up for air and give you a quick update.

This chapter is the most difficult thing I’ve ever written. For one thing, I’ve never written the end of anything before. It’s surprisingly challenging. There are 4 things I want to do, but to have them all work and make sense and not have too many loose ends dangling, I’m sort of writing it from both ends toward the middle, if that makes sense. The good news is, I think it’s going to be a really fun, satisfying final chapter. It’s almost fully written. I’ve done a lot of work on environments, outfits, and even new character models for Amy, Shelby, and Mila. I’ve also been writing some songs for the next chapter of Siren Song, so that’s kinda cool.

As far as a release date, who knows? I’m still shooting for June, but if things start clicking, it could be sooner. I doubt it, but it could happen.

That’s really all I have for now. I hope you all are having a good February, and I’ll have another update for you in a few weeks. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Hey Everyone!


Sorry for the extended absence. I just wanted to let you know I’m still here, plugging away at chapter 6 of NYD. I feel like a broken record sometimes, saying that I had to scrap one portion of the story or another, but here’s the deal. I wanted this chapter to include this sort of redemption arc for Portia and have her overcome some of the issues she’s been battling. I wanted this whole subplot to happen and this big emotional breakthrough at the end. It was going to be really awesome and epic, and all the things. To be clear, the plan isn't to make Portia a love interest. I don’t think she’s ready for that. Also, given what she's been through, framing it as a 'redemption arc' isn't quite right either. It's more of a reclamation arc. She wasn't outright evil; she was broken. It’s more about her healing than being shown the error of her ways. Anyway, try as I might, I couldn’t get that plotline off the ground. I tried and tried, and it just didn’t seem to want to fit into the rest of the story. And then I realized the error of MY ways, and that is: It doesn’t fit. Something that big can’t just be jammed into a subplot of an already crowded storyline. It deserves to either happen off-screen or get its own story. If any of you are interested in that story, let me know. Maybe I can either write it in a book/novella format, or I can do a short VN of it later.


Here’s the thing, though, now that I have lifted that out of this chapter’s narrative, the wheels are spinning freely, and I’m making really good progress. Daye is up to her old antics, and Eve is rolling her eyes at her while Kaylee is just as sweet and supportive as ever. Next up is the glow-up before the party. These girls are gonna look great! If everything goes well, I should still be on track for my original ETA, but I’ll keep you all posted if anything changes.

Anyway, try as I might, I couldn’t get that plotline off the ground. I tried and tried, and it just didn’t seem to want to fit into the rest of the story. And then I realized the error of MY ways, and that is: It doesn’t fit. Something that big can’t just be jammed into a subplot of an already crowded storyline. It deserves to either happen off-screen or get its own story. If any of you are interested in that story, let me know. Maybe I can either write it in a book/novella format, or I can do a short VN of it later.

It would be a cool side story similar to what Clever Name Games did in their Single Again story, but if I have to choose between a Portia arc or a new chapter for Siren Song, Siren Song wins by a landslide!

I hope all of you have been having an enjoyable spring (or autumn, depending on your location). For me, the weather is warming up, the flowers are blooming, and all the little animals are getting all twitterpated – including our favorite family. Things have been progressing fairly nicely. I am about halfway through the first day. I just need to do two short scenes and then the pool party scene, which will be a pretty long one. After that is New Year’s Day and the happy ending that this story deserves.


Being on the cusp of finishing this VN up is bittersweet. I know I am going to continue writing about these characters, and I plan to do some VNs with these characters in the future, but this was my first “big” project, and while it’s far from perfect, I’m proud of all the work I did, and I’m also a little sad to see it come to a close.


That said, it also opens up all of my time to devote to Siren Song, which I’m really excited about. I hope you are too.

New Year's Day(e) Progress Report - 5/12/26​

Hey Everybody!

I can’t tell you how excited I am to be 2/3 of the way through this chapter. I basically have two very large scenes left to do, and then it’s a wrap. This is probably going to be the biggest chapter of anything I’ve done, but it’s gonna be good. Obviously, there will be some heavy scenes but they will be balanced by a huge helping of humor and naughtiness. I am hoping to stay on track for a late June/early July release.

And after I’m done with this story, I’m headed straight back to Siren Song to pick up where I left off there.

But after that…

I have the framework developing in my head for such a great, fun, no drama, no huge emotional sledgehammer, funny, lightweight romp of a story. It’s only gonna be a single standalone story with the CE/NYD cast. Maybe only one or two chapters long – most likely one. I’m really excited about it. More to come on this idea later.

As far as Chapter 6 goes, like I said, things are progressing nicely. Maybe not as fast as I want, but, hey, I want to make sure I end this story right. After all of this, we all deserve that much, don’t we?
