That's part of why it's popular i'd say. Something unique about a fully functional hermafrodite that reaches a lot of notes in the many spectrums of people's sexuality. Things like a partner with wich you can naturally make use of all your pleasure receptors, all kinds of fetishes that would otherwise be restricted to a single gender. Probably speaks too with those that while desiring to the opposite gender's form has still grown attached to some of the tools their biology provided. I do believe that 10-30 meters thick is an average, not a exact limit, its a chaotic universe, there is no exacts most of the time.

Eh, i think the ending wasn't the worst of it. Many comedies of the time would sometimes go a drama or pointless boring arc. When the ending popped i had already dropped it cuz the characters stopped being funny and just went stupid, whinny and irritating, while the ecchi just left me blue balled due to the obvious limitations. Author's well had run dry so he started using ecchi as the point of the joke and interest rather than part of it and the ending came out of that frustration
