Is this crash the reason why so many game threads have preview images that don't load?

no but the crash impacted it and wiped out most of all images.

Let's let the staff do their job calmly and not distract them with trivial questions. For me personally, only two fundamentally important issues are important - saving my account and saving links to games. As I understand it, both will be saved. The rest of the questions, in my opinion, are secondary. Just don't forget about one rule - don't put all your eggs in one basket. Make at least local copies of your media archives, the size of modern HDDs allows you to make such back-ups painlessly.

For me the shop is just a blank white page that just says "please log in". I am logged in and have tried signing out and back in. Is this a known issue with the temporary solution?

restored all user data ie usernames/passwords/credits, restoring bank/shop now but no threads will be restored.

You must be registered to see attachments

My activity coins never got restored correctly as I was at 163 at the time of the crash and I only got back 77 upon the restore, I am not at 86 with some forum activity

Yea, I have found the lack of and broken images/previews make a huge impact on the user experience - look forward to this being fixed

users/mods/uploaders will need to fix the images on the new site, the images are completely gone (we could build a bot that auto pulls images from f95 but games+ is the bigger challenge that would have to be manually done.
