I think my biggest problem is that I did it for years before I started officially working as a programmer, I get way less pay now, which is fine since its basically an apprenticeship, were I am used as an underpaid worker. That was mostly my decision. But the freedom of before, that I could just write what interested me, so I was as example while working on an internal league of legends platform, just deciding to rewrite the target selector, and spent 10 hours just writing and testing the new target selector based on all kinds of variables. Or I could just write a packer and live test it with virustotal and some sandboxes... That is I think what I really miss. The pay before was also way better, but none of it was money I had officially, so basically useless for any bigger spending. My boss had a wall with boxes of cash lying around, which he could not use, I at least was able to only be paid in crypto xD
Oooo you're no doubt way better at programming than me by the sounds of this :3 That sounds super cool as well! <3
Both are a good decision in my opinion, would probably recommend C# if you already have experience, since its still extremely flexible, while not being as heavy as many others in the IL code category.
Yee was thinking that as well :3 C# is probs the language I'm the most comfortable with so feels like a safe choice <3

@imYuna! are you planning on selling the game or it's just passion project? I would be happy to see the game when you're feel like it's ready if you wish

If I'm happy enough with it to sell then I will sell it :3 but that's years away and it's primarily a passion project <3 And I'd defi love to share it here! (is not a nsfw game tho <3)

Finally, the weekend~

Well we all started somewhere, and I had too much free time in my youth, since I did not spend it socializing much, or getting along with others, had like 1 or 2 friends I spent time with, family life was difficult at the time, and all the other time was used for programming, reverse engineering, studying some sys internals and such. That I got into the scripting scene as dev was pure coincidence, but was in the end where I had the most fun till now. But in the end we all learn by doing, as programmer its almost mendatory to atleast fail once or twice at a project, completely rethinking the structure, learning from it and taking the lessons to the next problem, and when high level languages are enough for the problem and you do not need low level code, I don't really see a reason to spend the time with learning all the internal stuff, you should roughly know how the Von Neumann architecture works, but you usually don't even need to differentiate stack from heap or a vector from an array. This is more important for actual low level, or really performance concerning applications, so wasted knowledge if you don't work with such applications

I think being good at programming is super cool! Am pretty proficient myself (at least I'd like to hope :3) I agree with what you are saying about like computing theory and stuff but I find it all super interesting so I end up reading alot about computing outside of programming as well <3

I would talk about my work like everyone else, but it's really the last thing I want to think about right now. I just want to relax and maybe call some people I haven't spoken to in a while (not booty calls, I feel I should clarify that here).

But maybe will go for a walk this evening with a good doobie, not a bad idea.
That's the spirit

That's great to hear, too many people only focus on the small picture and call themselves computer scientist, for a standard programmer many things are not needed, but I think that drive is what brings people really to do this as a passion. Was the same for me. And if you want to go into the CS part you actually need to know the low level knowledge imo. But I wish you the best of luck with your project, and I am open to help if you have general questions :)

I am sorry :( What do you do in your freetime, other than the non booty calls you just talked about? That was my original question.

A booty call would be the best way to blow off steam on a friday :3

Its my cat in playing/hunting/killing mode, like 3-4 months after I got her. She is my little princess, also acts like one and is just as demanding for attention. Currently sitting beside me as well :)

Cats make for excellent PFPs lol. Though I will admit most of what VSCDB said flies over my head lol.

Awwwww <3 That's adorable :3 She so cuuute <333

She made a very quiet meow sound as I told her that the internet people find her cute :) So I think she approves. I think in the picture she was very shocked from me actually daring to pull my hand away from her as she was trying to bite it. Her name is Freitag (german for Friday). It's a book reference, maybe someone here gets it ;)

I'm jealous of you all who have actually learned a programming language. I'd really like to learn Python/RenPy, but every time I start, I get overwhelmed.
